Ideal to start your nightout

Advantages: Cheap, roomy, busy,
Disadvantages: none

Bar Walkabout in Cardiff has to be one of the best pubs in the town centre. It's a relatively new pub opened up at the end of St. Mary's Street, very close to both the train station and bus depot.

The pub itself has three floors which are always open to the public. Bars are long and spaceous and punters can quickly get served.

The opening times vary day-by-day although my experience has been that of a Thursday and Friday ... more

Review of Walkabout Inn

It's not all Coal Mines and Choirs

Advantages: Great by Day - Superb by Night
Disadvantages: None - I'm Biased !!

You're gonna have to bear with me on this because I have to say I'm a little biased when it comes to Cardiff but what do you expect from a Welshman. Contrary to popular belief you won't find sheep strolling round the streets (unless there's a rugby international on!!), there's no coal mines (Maggie Thatcher put paid to all that) and very few Male Voice Choirs serenade you as you walk about town (unless it's a Friday night then every Welshman thinks he's Tom Jones!!). What you will find is a vibrant young city with plenty to offer. For the Young (and not so Young) at heart the city's nightelife is second to none in my opinion, a plethora of bars adorns St. Marys Street, ranging from the vast Walkabout to the rather smaller Goat Major at the Castle end of the street. Talking of Castles it's a little known fact that Cardiff is ...

For nightlife Cardiff has hundreds of pubs and clubs to suit everyones tastes, ones to look out for are Liquid, Walkabout Inn and Square all on St. Mary Street. While for the clubbers out there Enter The Dragon @ Vision 2K every Friday offers you big name DJ's every week for the best clubbing experience in Wales with residents such as Jimpy, John oo Flemming and Dave Pearce, plus Oaky,Mauro Picotto,Seb Fontaine making regular appearances. So you see add all this to one of the best Universities in Britain and you really have acity that is going places. You should definitely check it out. ...
