Home sweet home
Review of Woodlands Hotel, Waterford by mandrea

Advantages: Great dining, warm and friendly atmosphere, Genuine Irish hospitality
Disadvantages: Expensive

Ahhh, The Woodlands hotel...how i love it so. If you ever find yourself in the South East of Ireland, you could do a lot worse than staying here. The Woodland hotel offers an amazing customer experience, from the delicious food to the comfortable, clean rooms and the genuine Irish "craic" that you can feel as soon as you walk through the door. But it wasnt always like that.... 10 years ago, the little town of Ballygunner, where the hotel is situated, ...
...i havent tried at The Woodlands (too busy scoffing and drinking!) but the leisure facilities consist of Sauna, Jacuzzi , Gym and swimming pool. A friend of mine swims there most days and assures me that it is clean and rarely gets too busy - but maybe because membership is extortionate. Restaurants There are 3 restaurants at the Woodlands, although i have only eaten in one of them. The Gaultier banquet suite is a large 350 seater restaurant that ... Read review

Family run hotel, in the heart of the town
Review of Lawlors, Waterford by cooler1968

Advantages: Wonderful food, both in carvery and restaurant. Family friendly. close to town and local amenities
Disadvantages: No hotel operated car parking, no leisure facilities

Lawlors Hotel, based in the town of Dungarvan, is a family operated property. The Burke family have run this hotel for over 20 years and have put a lot of time and dedication into maintaining the hotel to the highest possible standards. It is now part of the White Group of hotels The hotel is located just off Davitt's Quay and a short walk from the town's main square. The town itself is a bustling market town in the South East and is the county ...
...modern building just a little walk away from the hotel. Lawlors hotel has been a firm favourite of both local and traveller alike to meet for a few drinks, especially after any of the GAA matches played in the nearby Fraher Field. The bar offers the clientele with warm surroundings, friendly service from efficient staff. The decor is rather tastefully done, and is rustic in appearance. The bar offers very keenly priced carvery lunches throughout ... Read review

lovely accom and great area
Review of Pebble Beach Holiday Homes, Waterford by frankiecesca

Advantages: location, price area.
Disadvantages: freezer not too big especially if a family stayed there

I stayed here back in November of 2004 with my husband and our friend. We stayed in a 2 bedroom home which was more than adequate on space for the 3 of us. Originally there was 4 of us but unfortunately our friend and his girlfriend had split up but even so there still would have been bags of space for the four of us! Even though quite some time ago now it would still be a useful review for anyone looking at holiday homes in Ireland Location: Excellent. ...
...in the summer is very busy. The homes are set just a few hundred yards from the beach and a small amusement arcade. There is also a swimming pool with slides next to the holiday village which was actually open as it is all under cover but we did not go in so not sure how much it costs. On the beachfront there is a selection of shops and burgers stands etc (which were not open when we were there) Just around the from the amusements is a small area ... Read review

Fit for royalty, but needs updating
Review of McEniff Ard Ri Hotel, Waterford by cooler1968

Advantages: Friendly staff, good food, good leisure facilities
Disadvantages: A little bit dated and not all facilites are on par with other hotels

The Ard Ri has for many years been a favourite of both locals and tourists for two main reasons: value for money and fantastic service. Located across the river Suir from the city, and claimed by some to be actually in County Kilkenny (a great source of local rivalry and jovial banter), this hotel is well situated to take in the panoramic views (especially at night) of Waterford City and the river Suir. This hotel was originally built back in the ...
...been done, this hotel appears to be a little outdated when compared to some of the others in the city. The bar is well laid out, and is tastefully decorated. It is big enough to accomodate a fairly large amount of patrons, but does get a little packed on the weekends, especially when there are some of the usual free entertainment with some local singers and musicians playing here. The price of the pint is on par with the rest of the hotels in the ... Read review

TT's Viking Invasion of Waterford
Review of Bridge Hotel, Waterford by bigfatdogs

Advantages: Central, friendly, family orientated, extremely child friendly
Disadvantages: Off a busy street, no onsite car parking, little noisey

I went to the Bridge Hotel, with my little 4 year old son, TT. We went in August in what I would describe as still being in summer season. This was our first holiday away together and so I approached it with some trepidation. The Bridge Hotel, is a 3 star hotel. It is located on the Quay in Waterford, and the Victorian facade, looks out onto the beautiful River Suir. The hotel cost me £130 for 3 nights with two meals and for me and my son. There ...
...that for my son as they said he was only 4 and would probably not eat that much. I was so impressed, this business obviously places family and child friendly attitudes as a core business value. Waterford is an ancient Viking city in the South East of Ireland and It is beautiful and steeped in history. The city and surrounding county caters well for visitiors of all ages and of all interests. Traveling to Waterford We traveled ... Read review
