~~Reaching its 10 years of entertainment~~

Advantages: Convenient, safe, clean, and accessible to any kind of transport
Disadvantages: Not much of events and programmes that I like most to watch

THE WATERFRONT HALL is one of the architectural icons along Lagan River in Belfast, just besides Hilton Hotel and few meters away from the central train station and St Georges Market (3rd best food market in the UK). It is an entertainment and cultural venue for the past ten years, and it has been visited by prominent people from around the world, including Prince Charles who inaugurated the building in January 1997.

One of the magazines ...
...Waterfront Hall as one of the ''must-see city attractions''. This ''contemporary theatrical venue'' dominates the Lagan skyline with its distinctive bronze dome. This 2,000-seater venue has a ''superbly designed'' concert hall and it is also considered as an ''expression of Belfasts confidence'' as a modern European city and it portrays the ''dramatic regeneration'' or redevelopment of the Laganside.

My first visit to the Hall was ... more

WHAT'S WITH THE SHEEP

Advantages: Great venue, great disabled facilites, supberb views
Disadvantages: Carparking is not free

Belfast Waterfront Hall can be found at 2 Layon Place, Belfast, BT1 3WH. The contact telephone number is 028 90 334400. It is owns and run by Belfast City Council so ratepayers basically have funded its building and upkeep. Not only is it a concert hall it also acts as a conference and exhibition centre too. It has been open for around 6 years or so now – purpose built with modern facilities to suit the needs of both business and entertainment. ...
...(2001) that l visited the Waterfront Hall. FIRST IMPRESSIONS It looks huge from the outside. Built on the banks of the river Lagan, it overlooks the weir. It is a massive glass fronted building with 4 floors. The views are spectacular to say the least – you can see all the regeneration work going on around the Lagan. Outside has been landscaped – although l do not understand the metal sculptures of sheep! These poor sheep regularly ...

Disabled Very Friendly

Advantages: Great accessability
Disadvantages: none

My Mother uses a motorised wheelchair and has moved to Belfast recently from The Isle of Wight. One reason was a lack of access in shopping and entertainment there. So She did not feel comfortable about going out to a Concert hall but when we go there it could not have been made easier.Disabled parking spots near the door , Flat level entrance and a ramp up to the seating area. There are seat areas for the disabled and their companions on either ...
...on the Right hand side as you face the stage so these are the more accessible also closer to the disabled toilets. All the staff were really friendly and helpful even to the point of bringing a pot of tea down from the cafe at the interval. So well done them a great night out that increases the confidence of the less able to enjoy what we who are able take for granted. ...

LIVE AND ERECT FOR THIRTY YEARS

Advantages: Absolute comedy genius
Disadvantages: That the show had to end

Last night l had the most hilarious night of my life. I am proud to say that l witnessed Mr Billy Connolly live in the Waterfront Hall in Belfast. We bought our tickets back in May for £33 plus £2 credit card booking. At the time it this price of £35 did seem overly expensive, but after last night l consider the price worth every penny spent! I have long been a fan of Billy, having all video’s he has released, therefore when l heard the Big Yin was playing 6 nights in Belfast – how could l resist? As l said the tickets sold out I hours, but luckily we have a friend who works at the venue and therefore we were able to pre-book the tickets. Billy’s stage backdrop was a simple screen, which covered the stage. It was orange in colour and covered in a plethora of words. These words included:  ...

Park Avenue Hotel, Belfast - Solid Choice

Advantages: Recently Refurbished
Disadvantages: Not in centre of town

I stayed over at this hotel for a wedding and had a great time (as did the rest of the guests). ********LOCATION*********** I knew of the hotel but had never stayed in it before. It is the closest hotel to Belfast City Airport (about 10 mins by taxi, at a cost of £3.70). It is also about 10 minutes from the city centre, again by taxi. Although we didn't go to the following I thought you might like to know that it is close to the Odyssey Arena (main concert venue), Belfast's Waterfront Hall and the Titanic Quarter. **********BISTRO********** We did eat in the Bistro in the bar, (Gelston's Corner), the food was very nice and by no means expensive. The avage cost was about £5 per person. The decor was very traditional and always seemed busy. The staff were great, friendly professional (full of the good old Irish charm ...

Belfast .......... So much more...!!!!

Advantages: The friendly locals, heritage, sights
Disadvantages: Everything closes on Sunday

a 12 screen multiplex, home of Belfast Giants Icehockey teams, an arena which holds up to 10,000 spectators for concerts etc as well as many restraunts and bars. Also there is the beautiful waterfront hall another venue used for concert and performances. The shopping in Belfast is central and pedestrianised mostly, the atmosphere is generally busy with music drifting out onto the streets, Christmas is my personal favorite loud christmas music in the street, street traders calling out for business and the general hustle and bustle. Its such a happy festive memory that i'm sure most would not forget once savored. There are plenty to see outside of Belfast itself such as a trip down the beautiful Antrim coast with the white cliffs dripping into the sea, the giants causeway and Ulster American Folk park. There's Belfast Zoo up ...
