Watford (the town that grew and grew!)

Advantages: Near London and motorways, rail links
Disadvantages: Bad road system, urbanised beyond belief

I was born in Watford and have lived here all my life. It was not a Roman town as someone else has said but was called Cassio in the doomsday book as a piece of land in the parish of St Albans. It was a nice town once but due to urban sprawl of London and the continuous building of retail establishments from the Harlequin centre and Charter Place which was the smaller 1970's version (still part of the major shopping area)to the big retail carbuncles ...
...Aldenham country park ( four miles north of town)

There are plenty of things to do and visit in and around Watford but it depends what floats your boat

I hope I have given you and insight into the town.

It's like marmite, you either love it or hate it.

Advantages: Good shopping centre, good facilities.
Disadvantages: A few pointless statue things around.

I have lived in Watford all my life so i have grown to love the place. ..: Where Is It :.. Watford is the largest town in Hertfordshire and is about 20 miles north from central London. ..: How Many People Live Here :.. I don't know if this is true but apparently 81,00 people live in Watford. ..: Shopping :.. The town centre is fairly big, its got a shopping centre called the harlequin. Its got around 144 shops, including shops like john lewis, ...
...:.. The main hospital is Watford General and is next to the football ground. I've never actually needed to use the hospital cos im healthy :P but i've heard its been given unhygenic reports and stuff but i'm sure its fine! ..: Access :.. There are a few good taxi's firms. Arriva run loads of bus services into, out of and around Watford. Mainline trains run at watford junction (20 mins Euston - Watford)(30 mins Baker Street - Watford) There is also ...

Wonderful Watford

Advantages: Decent selection of restaurants and bars
Disadvantages: Pubs and bars become too busy at the weekends

Originally a roman town, Watford is a modest market town situated between the outskirts of north-west London and the green belt. Having lived there all my life, I have had no reason to leave, and being so conveiniently located 20 miles north west of London, I have always commuted into London where I work. Watford has a reasonable transport system. Trains and buses generally. Nevertheless, unemployment is low and jobs are plentiful inand around ...

upto the bays. Top Golf was built in 2000. ~~ Accessibility ~~ Disabled people are not very well catered for. There are no lifts and its impossible to get a wheelchair on the grass bit to shoot ~ unless you are Andy from Little Britain and can get out of it and walk around :P ~~ Prices ~~ A credit for a game is £3.60. Membership costs £5.00 and club hire is free. ~~ Locations ~~ Top Golf only have two venues in England. Review of Top Golf, Watford, London

Location, Location, Location

Advantages: Great Location and Price
Disadvantages: Needed modernising (and now has been)

York City. The hotel was purpose built in 1919. A grand 90 years old. The front of the hotel is flat and gives the impression that it is a square building, it isn't, it is forked and looks like a large W but with an extra fork, this is great as it keeps the rooms in the 'forks' quiet. New York is a loud city and the roads are busy all the time. The hotel houses a large entrance with concierge, the check in/receptionist desk is quite large with many desks, it was quite busy but we got checked in within 10 minutes. What was really weird is the girl behind the desk asked where we were from and we said England, and for some reason my mum said oh near Watford and it turns out the American girl had been working at our local hospital, it was so weird! The hotel has a coffee shop (they sell the best hot chocolate in the world, as well as ...
