I have lived in Watford all my life so i have grown to love the place.
..: Where Is It :.. Watford is the largest town in Hertfordshire and is about 20 miles north from central London.
..: How Many People Live Here :.. I don't know if this is true but apparently 81,00 people live in Watford.
..: Shopping :.. The town centre is fairly big, its got a shopping centre called the harlequin. Its got around 144 shops, including shops like john lewis, hmv etc. I've found most shops in the Harlequin to be easy to find and good value. Away from the town centre you will find supermarket Sainsburys and hypermarket Asda.
..: Nightlife :.. Nightlife is quite good, there are 2 nightclubs, Area and Destiny. As well as one half of the town mainly being pubs and clubs!
..: Leisure and Sport :.. For leisure there is the leisure centre in Woodside which have an astroturf pitch, gym and 400m track. The football stadium is situated in Vicarage Road, about 5 minutes walk from the town centre. There is a place in Woodside that has a Vue cinema, a Hollywood Bowl, KidSports, Frankie and Bennys (very good in there) and Chiquetos.
..: Health and Care :.. The main hospital is Watford General and is next to the football ground. I've never actually needed to use the hospital cos im healthy :P but i've heard its been given unhygenic reports and stuff but i'm sure its fine!
..: Access :.. There are a few good taxi's firms. Arriva run loads of bus services into, out of and around Watford. Mainline trains run at watford junction (20 mins Euston - Watford)(30 mins Baker Street - Watford) There is also a tube station. Heathrow is around 30mins away as is Luton Airport. Stansted is also an hour away. 2 and a half hours from Dover and 2hrs from Portsmouth and Southampton ports
..: Eating :.. There are loads of fast food outlets and posh resturants. I would recommend Pizza Hut because McDonalds and Burger King get boring after a while.
..: Summary :.. Can be expensive to live here in places but its got good shopping and leisure facilites.
