A Manchester Hotel Gathers no moss

Advantages: Good location. good facilities
Disadvantages: None

We stayed at the Village Hotel Ashton Moss (just outside Manchester) for two nights when went to visit friends and see a gig at the Manchester Evening News Arena. The hotel is easy to find, being just off the M60 and is about a 15 / 20 minute drive from Manchester town center We booked directly with the Hotel and paid £189 for 2 nights in a standard room with bed and breakfast including dinner on the first night. The hotel has only been open a few months and is classed as a Village 'Premier' Hotel. From the outside the building is very domineering, being mainly black and it has ample free car parking. The reception area is large and very plush, decorated in deep browns and purples, with the bar and entrance to the gym to one end, the restaurant at the other and an actual small Starbucks café in the middle. There are also ...

The Welbeck Hotel, Nottingham

Advantages: Very Central Location, Good Value For Money
Disadvantages: 10am Checkout

When I needed to find some cheap Hotel accommodation in Nottingham City Centre a couple of Weeks ago, the Internet was the logical place to start my search. I tried the usual chains including Travelodge, but since my stay was less than one week away I quickly found that I was struggling. Eventually I stumbled upon the Welbeck Hotel. Location wise it seemed perfect, right in the centre of the City, and price wise it was well within my budget too, and so I confirmed my Online booking. FIRST IMPRESSIONS Well to be honest the first thing that impressed me was the location. It was less than five minutes walk from the Lace Market, and well within walking distance of all of the other Shops and Attractions. The next thing that appealed to me was the design of the building itself. It is quite a large, modern looking, Hotel on five ...

Alton House Hotel

Advantages: Posh hotel, it looks nice, but...
Disadvantages: The staff

I went to stay here in 2006, I think. For my sisters wedding. It was a nice hotel, the architecture inside I knew wasn't real, but it was meant to look posh. Which it did, but only in one room... the reception. So, I stayed here for two days and one night. I didn't sleep on a proper bed, because the room was full in which I was sleeping in (Since its a wedding and all). So in the corner of the room, I had to sleep on a horrible, tiny, lumpy bed. Which can be folded again into a bag. Of course, I can't blame the hotel for the poor bed, because this was my own fault. I'm sure that if there weren't so many people I could of slept on the double bed, which is better. So, in the early days, considering to be the 1800's - Alton House Hotel used to be a house. Not a hotel. Rich people used to live in this house. It was only in the 1940's that ...
