Advantages: Fantastic Location - you couldn't wish for a nicer part of the city to stay in Disadvantages: Reception staff are a little unfriendly - DO NOT USE THE IN ROOM PHONE!!!!!!
I visited The Westin in October 2005 as a gift from my parents for my 21st birthday, they treated myself and my boyfriend to a 5 night stay in a superior room. I'll start by giving you some afcts about the hotel and then i'll give you my experience.
The Westin New York at Times Square is on the corner of 43rd Street and 8th Avenue, it has 863 rooms and 126 club rooms and suites. It has a restaurant (shula's steak house) a bar (bar 10) and a coffee ... ...has 24 hour room service, a gym and spa, a ticket desk and a gift shop.
My trip to the hotel:
On arrival to the hotel my first impressions were very good the hotel was an amazingly tall and colourful building, very very modern looking, we were greeted by really friendly porters who took our bags from us and then we made our way upstairs to the reception (the reception is on the 2nd floor - a little strange i thought!)

Advantages: Location, Comfortable and Luxurious rooms Disadvantages: Pricey
Location - The Westin Times Square hotel is conveniently situated at 43rd Street on 8th Avenue. It stands in the middle of the broadway district with approximately 40 theatres offering a variety of shows within walking distance. There are many shops, and entertainment facilities within metres of this hotel and it is only a few blocks walk to the Empire State Building and Macys. If you want to catch a cab back from Macys with all your shopping it ... ...that far to walk. Ground Zero is a $12 taxi ride away and there is a large discount store located directly opposite ground zero where a few bargains are to be found. There is easy access to subways and is only a couple of blocks away from Penn Station and Grand Central station. It is an approximate taxi ride of about 45 minutes from JFK airport it cost us $110 for a stretch limo with meet and greet service. There is an adjoining entertainment complex ...
