Who are they J D Wetherspoon plc (LSE: JDW) (commonly referred to as Wetherspoons) is a British pub chain, founded by Tim Martin in 1979.[1] It is based in Watford and is listed on the London Stock Exchange, where it is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.
The Bar:
I am regular customer at my local JD Wetherspoon, there is actually two in my home city and I would go to the both of them, depending on what events are going on. I would go to this bar because as I am a student, it's the cheapest in the town. And on many occasions their BLUE WKDs are realllllly tasty. I also like the atmosphere of the bar, it's very comfortable and it's also nice for a family. Both bars in my town are very spacey, so your not crampt in the corner or anything, and not sitting directly next to another customer. The price is one of the main reasons I go to the bar, and also as they have a great selection on their menu - a good selection of wines spirits, Alco pops, tea/coffee and world drinks - drinks from around the world.
The Restaurant
As I mentioned above - I am a fan of bargains, and I would also to Wetherspoon for some quality grub at low cost prices. I have to admit the food is great quality, very tasty, and you do get brilliant portions. However on the odd occasion, I have had to complain - true story…. Just this week, I was in my local bar,I ordered a well done steak and chips. I waiting ages for it to arrive, then when it arrived, my steak looked like a seal, black and shiney - I just thought - ok its well cooked, yum yum. Then I took a slice of it, and ate it, and I almost threw up, the taste was appalling, it was blood, I looked at my steak and it was pink and running of blood inside. I know people like raw steak but I certainly don't, I had to complain, and I was ill for the rest of the evening with bad stomach pains.
OK that was one bad occasion, I did have a few of them, but 90% of the time the food is gorgeous, and they also have a great selection of food on the menu.
The bar itself
I like the bar, its very entertaining, it has quiz nites, plays big footie matches - which don't interest me but still a good event for customers, has poker machines, and entertainment systems, good range of music. I would recommend the bar to people.
The staff As the bar is regularly being checked by secret shoppers, the management ensure that their staff are up to scratch. Any of the staff I have met have always been very nice and very helpful towards me and any other customers. I think its very important to have good customer service.

I enjoy wetherspoons pubs as they have a great selection of real ales which constantly change each week. Good review.

Great review. I've been to many a Wetherspoons pub! Brilliant warm up place for a night out! Grub is okay but you get what you pay for, i.e. quality is okish, sometimes bad though. Thanks!
