I would just like to write a review on my local Wetherspoon pub, having spent a lot of time in there as of late! But no, I am NOT an alcoholic before you sad people say anything to the contrary.
From entering the pub until you leave, no matter what time of day it is that you visit you are aways sure of a great welcome and a good atmosphere. The staff are there to make your experience as enjoyable as possible, it would do more than break their hearts in my mind if anything else happened to you whilst being under their care.
All of the Wetherspoon pubs are either older pubs that have been in existence for some time and taken over by the company, or are new pubs that have been set up by them. But no matter how they came about, they are all usually based on local landmarks etc. They display information about the local areas, and provide historical talking points on what used to be there.
Being in the usual tradition of a pub, they sell an endless range of both soft and alcoholic drinks. Their non-alcoholic range takes in tea and coffee, as well as fruit juices; squash; water, and so on.
By way of food, in my opinion they serve the best selection in Plymouth in terms of having a wide variety. From the toast and jam on their breakfast menu, through to the 2 meals for £6.69 (ish) that oncludes chilli; fish, and lasagne there is a dish to cater for all tastes. They do a separate children's menue, as well as food for vegetarians; gluten-frees, and so on. There are regular 'club deals' - curry and a pint, or burger and a beer so that those who wish to go in for a bit of the common ground can also be well catered for.
Staffed from opening time at 9 am until closing time (any time between 11 pm and 2/3 am), there are also regular cleanliness checks on the public conveniences meaning that the whole experience should be a pleasant one for all concerned.
Although the majority of their pubs doo not play music, there are in fact now a number of their pubs that convert to 'Lloyds Bars' during the latter part of the night. These are you average clubs, and are usually located towards the more busier parts of the town for adding to your night out. Alongside this, there are also now a number of lodges (aka hotels) for those people who wish to stay over.
