Advantages Location, location, location!

Disadvantages None come to mind

This is a real find of a hotel if you are planning to visit Chicago. It does seem to appear regularly with special offers on the various online sites and I'd recommend hunting online to get the best deal at the time of your trip - I paid about £71 a night using hotelsrus.com which I thought was fantastic value for peak June. The hotel is superbly situated just off Michigan Avenue, the main shopping street and also only a brisk 10/15 minute walk to the shore of Lake Michigan, brilliant for that early morning bracing run dodging the crazy Chicago cyclists!
I arrived to discover that instead of a no-smoking room as requested on booking, I had been given a smoking room instead. It wasn't obviously smelling of smoke, but there was that residual pong. Anyway, I went back to reception and asked if there was another no-smoking room available, there wasn't one in that size but they promised to send someone up to air and clean the room immediately, which they did. Cleaner appeared 5 mins later with air freshener spray, hoover, etc and did great job freshening the room. I couldn't smell the smoke after. Excellent service.

Room was HUGE, spotlessly clean, all as expected, marble bathroom with usual extras of moisturiser, bath gel, shampoo, conditioner and the like and lots of fluffy towels. Nice, comfy king-size bed, good - easy to control - air conditioning and an openable window too!
Don't bother with breakfast in the hotel, there's plenty of great cheap places just down the road on the opposite side of Michigan Avenue down the stairs in the open concourse basement of the Water Tower complex. The Italian deli in the LH corner is highly recommended. The hotel has a nice restaurant attached with great pizzas and yummy cocktails (Bellinis are delicious) not too expensive either.
Concierge was very helpful with any enquiries and organising shuttle bus back to airport etc, and I'll definitely be staying there for my next trip.
