Sailing the Whitsundays is something everybody who ever travels the East Coast of Australia HAS to do!! It is expensive compared to other "backpakery" things to do, but it is worth every cent! It cost about $350 (150 quid) for 2.5 days and you can book from pretty much any travel agents on the Coast. I did a 5day scuba course on the reef and i enjoyed every second!the fish were amazing the coral was fantastic and the scuba instructors were great people!i couldnt have had a better time if i wanted to!i managed to see turtles clownfish and dive up to 18 meters! i felt safe all the time the only downside was that i had to leave! However when i did leave i moved down the coast to the whitsundays where i took a 3day 2night sailing adventure on a boat called the defender!
