Bowland WildBoar Park
We often travel around the Forest of Bowland we are very lucky that it is on our doorstep and it is a really beautiful location.
On our trips we had often spotted a brown leisure travel sign for 'WildBoar Park', so when we had my seven year old grandson staying with us we thought that we'd go and check it out - and how pleased were we??
The park is about two miles from the lovely little village of Chipping, in the Forest of Bowland (which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty); it is just ten miles from Preston and eight miles from Clitheroe.
Our party on the day of the visit was one pensioner, one adult, one 12 year old and one 7 year old and I can say with complete honesty that every one of that party had a wonderful and enjoyable day.
Let me try and tell you all about the park so ...
Advantages: All round value for money accomodation. Disadvantages: Food and drink expensive, but so are most places in the Lake District.
Having read some negative reviews about this hotel, i thought it necessary after having just stayed there with my family for 4 days, to re-address the balance a little.
I found this hotel nothing but charming, peaceful and with the most politest of staff, it was a joy to come back to the hotel after a heavy day of walking.
It was child friendly and although meals and drinks were costly this is the part of the stay that you can control and nobody is stopping you eating lakeside in Windermere or in a quaint country pub. Breakfasts were something to look forward too and the rooms were nice and comfy and cleaned spotlessly.
All in all a pleasant stay and i would definitely go again and recommend it for a stay unless you are one of those people who are never satisfied, then there are hotels costing £200 a night just up the road! ...
Advantages: Entertaining for the most, with reasonable performances Disadvantages: Some very strange humour
►►► Synopsis
Fed up of their middle aged, mundane lives, let alone their moaning wives, four friends decide to set out on a motorbike road trip in search of freedom, fun and their lost youth. But it seems that their attempts to escape from their boring lives is fraught with disaster and mishaps, especially when they inadvertently upset a mean band of bikers called the Del Fuegos, who are intent on getting their revenge.
►►► Opinion
Despite having read numerous, sometimes scathing reviews of "Wild Hogs" I still had a burning desire to see it, and even though after watching it I tended to agree with a few of the negatives which have been levied against this film, I still really enjoyed it for what it was, a bit of simple entertainment. The film is nothing more than a blatant attempt to ...
