Oor Sandy

Advantages: Immensely likeable golfer
Disadvantages: Not showing his best from

A popular Scot (who was actually born in Shrewsbury) Sandy Lyle has won 2 majors. His first was the Open Championship in 1985 at Sandwich but perhaps his greatest triumph was the 1988 US Masters when he was the first Briton ever to win the Masters. Whether the Americans were so pleased is another matter for he chose haggis as the dinner for the following years Masters. In the same year (1988) he was also the World Match Play Champion. Lyle was always destined to be a golfer. We have become familiar with the early footage of Tiger Woods hitting the ball as a toddler but it was the same for Sandy Lyle. He was a successful amateur before turning professional and was Rookie of The Year in 1978 and led the Order of Merit a year later. Sadly since his annus marvellous in 1988 he has somewhat lost his way. Lyle has won many other ...

Sandy Balls, here I come.

Advantages: Peaceful, plenty of space, lovely place to spend time
Disadvantages: It rained a bit.

Sandy Balls Holiday Centre ? New Forest ? Hampshire. Updated 10th April 2005 Location, Sandy Balls is situated at the western end of Godshill village, a little more than a mile from Fordingbridge on the B3078. From the east, leave the M27 at Junction 1 signposted New Forest/ Lyndhurst/Cadnam A337 and at the end of the slip road, take the third exit B3078 to Fordingbridge. From the west, follow the A31 to Ringwood until the turning onto the A338 to Salisbury, and then take the B3078 for about 11/2 miles. From the north, follow the A338 through Salisbury to Fordingbridge and then take the B3078 to Godshill. The above information has been taken from the Sandy Balls Website. The rest of this review is all my own. I am off to Sandy Balls again, supporting someone who has Downs Syndrome, and quite severe ...

Review of Sandy Balls Holiday Centre

I really can't get enough of Sandy Balls!

Advantages: Fantastic
Disadvantages: Didn't want to leave

Now that I have your attention. I don't mean the kind that you lot are thinking of but come to mention it though? Hmmmmmmmmm........ No. Stop it at once Shirley! I mean Sandy Balls Holiday Centre on the edge of the picturesque New Forest in Hampshire. It's like a small one off Center parcs. You can choose to stay in a ready tent, mobile home type place or lord it up in a lodge or superior lodge. The things is once you are there you get peace and quiet and relaxation. And yes it is geared up for families! The most impressive thing for me about the place was the staff. They actually care! Quite a mean feat these days, me thinks. They are friendly, efficient and get on with their task as soon as asked. The second thing were the facilities. Two swimming pools, one in and one outdoors. Two toddler pools, a jacuzzi and a sauna too ...
