To call it food is a lie

Advantages There were seats to sit on.
Disadvantages It was filth, the food was horrible and they ran out of drink.
When you're on a long coach journey and stop for a refreshing drink and a bite to eat, you pull off the motorway onto the service station and, if you're like me, head straight for the fast food chain that's there. In my case at Maidstone services on M20 in Kent this happened to be Wimpy. There were a whole party of us, which took about 20 minutes for the two boys (I won't give them the compliment of being called men) to complete all the orders.
For a start the fries were stone cold. I quickly ate these with bites of my burger. This was also cold. The meat tasted disgusting and it just flopped about. After this I resigned to drinking my Fanta, as they had run out of Pepsi. For a start I would prefer Coca Cola, but to run out of drink is appalling.
The very small 'area' devoted to Wimpy was tiny and in this space there was litter everywhere. And typical of all motorway service stations I had to pay extra for this privelage. In short Wimpy is horrible, filthy and its food is disgusting. Do not go there unless you don't like wasting money.

To be fair, this is a fast food outlet, therefore you cannot expect the food to be particularly tasty..

Although this is a helpful review, you need to bear in mind that Wimpy outlets in motorway services are franchised. Therefore one visit does not really give you a fair representation of Wimpy in general. The problem with this Wimpy, more than anything else, is severe understaffing. Quite frequently running on only 2 members of staff, this is a decision made by Roadchef (the company who operate that individual unit), not Wimpy. Perhaps you visited on a very bad day, as generally this Wimpy has good standards and has been awarded several high achievement certificates.
Did you know Maidstone not only has one, but two Wimpys!? Lucky aren't I. Well lets just say in 20 years of living here... I have never once dared to step foot inside. It looks disgusting, and well according to your review it is. Thankyou for justifying this. x
