Advantages: 30 miles from London Disadvantages: Very expensive
...Set in the countryside just 30 miles from London, this hotel is definately the very best I have ever stayed at. Its a 5* hotel so I must warn you from the start that the cheapest room is £170 ex. VAT
I was staying at the hotel for my sisters wedding and it is the perfect venue, it had a heated outdoor swimming pool, well-equipped gymnasium, two restaurants and two bars ..... what more can I say.
During the week appartently they hold major conferences for big players in the financial market. But at the week-end its perfect for people like you and me.
Local attractions included Windsor castle and a town full of pubs :)...

(whether some one was actually using it or whether it was there as some some of hotel advertising ploy I don't know) the rooms were ok, with reasonable en-suites and like most places in Cairo it had two single beds instead of a nice double.
The hotel also has a pretty good rooftop bar waiter service and with a limited view of Cairo. the bar's toilets are also kept clean by an efficient attendant who likes his tips. (these toilets were probably the cleanest I'd seen in Cairo except for McDonalds.)
Breakfast wasn't bad considering the price. I would stay there again if I were on a budget, but I preferred the atmosphere of the Windsor Cairo. (also downtown) The Odeon...

For the past 5 or 6 years my family and i have gone away for christmas as a treat. This stops all the age old arguments about washing up and allows us all to spend some real quality time together and relax.
