During the bank holiday weekend, me and the wife and the little ones went to Lego land, from Newcastle. We arranged for a family saver card, which all in all came to around £150 for 2 adults and 2 children, which in my view was a bargain. When we arrived at Kings Cross we decided to look around London before going to the hotel. So we left our luggage, at the left luggage office instead of carrying heavy bags around all day. The cost was £5 per bag. So, we spent £20. Never again. Rather have a broken shoulder from the bags. Its is an extortionate amount of money. SO BEWARE.
We arranged to stay at the Holiday Inn Heathrow for £116, as advertised on the Lego Land website. This included four tickets to Lego land and Bed and breakfast.
However, we had to get a taxi from the hotel to Lego land, which cost £32, but strangely enough cost £20 back????? If you are not going by your own car, I would seriously try and find the easiest and cheapest route. Our other alternative would have been to go back into London and then from London to Windsor, followed by a bus to the Lego land.
The Lego land website has lots of hotels which are nearby, but I would ring around a few and find out how close they are to the hotel itself. We booked up at the last minute and this was the only hotel, which was closer to Heathrow Airport than to Windsor.

LEGOLAND ITSELF
Lego land is amazing. I have always wanted to go. The kids really enjoyed it.
Every ride is free from the roller coasters, to the boats, to the Lego driving cars and the water logs. It is split into zones, some of which, such as the mazes and the water logs; you will need to be prepared to have wet kids (so take a spare pair of clothes.)
IMAGINATION CENTRE
At the beginning you have the imagination centre, where you can build your own Lego things and go on a little train ride. The only problem we found with the site is the fact that you have to wait around 10-15 mins to get on a ride. But the good thing is that there is a place around each queue where the kids can play with the Lego, so as they do not get bored waiting.
Includes
Space Tower, Excellent ride Build and Test workshops Papa Moles ice cream parlour Sky rider Discovery Zone
MINILAND
This park is very educational for the kids too. The Mini land, contains villages from around the world, with moving cars, boats and things.
Includes
Buckingham Palace Remote controlled boats Racing circuits London Eye and other London attractions
TRAFFIC LAND
You can learn how to drive a Lego car or boar, however, before hand you will have to watch a video to find out what the road signs mean. If you crash into another Lego car you will not get your licence.
Includes: Driving School L-Drivers Boating School Pizza Pergola Restaurant
MY TOWN
This town contains a lot of the amenities.
It includes
The harbour and Jack Stone show (can do, will do, as the saying goes) Harbour restaurant Picnic Grove Magic Theatre Adventurer’s express Circus Tents and rides Adventurer’s wave surfer.
ADVENTURERS EXPERESS TRAIN
You will get wet on this ride, as it takes you around Lego creatures and animals that live in the wilderness
WILD WOODS
This is one of the best areas, especially for big kids
It includes
Amazing Mazes Spinning Spider Pirate Gold wash Crossed ribs restaurant Pirate falls water log (you will get wet on this) Rat Trap Enchanted forest
CASTLE LAND
Same as the wild woods, this is one for the big kids, includes a very big knights castle
It includes
A dragon roller coaster (big and mini) Dragons apprentice Turret shop
SHOWS AND TIMES
During your visit you will have a chance to see some of the shows that are put on. The Show times are available at the ticket booths, guest services or the information map boards on the day of your trip.
The Shows include:
Jack Stone Stunt Show This is in the My Town Harbour
We went to see the Jack Stone Stunt Show. These are great for the kids as there is lots of action, water and jokes, not to mention Jack stone, himself. (you will get wet during this show, if you are in the blue zone).
LEGO Racers 4D
Around the Imagination Centre
And
The Pied Piper of Hamelin, Trouble in Fairytale Land and of course Jack and the Beanstalk on the Willow Stage.
We never got around to seeing these shows though.
FUTURE EVENTS
Lego Land also has special events for the kids during the year.
From the
3 October to 3 November
The kids can be creative and build a giant Lego mural of characters from the world of Harry Potter
25 October to the 27 October and from 2 to 3 November
Kids can celebrate Halloween and Fireworks all in one at Lego Lands spooktacular firework display.
And of course
21 December to 5 January 2003
The Kids will be able to experience the sights and smells and tastes of Christmas from a selection of countries from around the world. They can make their own Lego Christmas Decorations from Lego bricks and see Santa arrive in the harbour by boat to turn on all the lights in My Christmas Town
FOOD
During your visit to Lego land with the kids, there will come a time, when they are hungry or thirsty. Along the routes, there are cafes and restaurants to tempt your taste buds, with a wide range of hot and cold meals and snacks. From the pit stop diner to the Harbour side. BUT a word of warning. The costs for such drinks can range from £1.40 for a drink of pop to £2.50 for a hot dog. So it may be worth your while taking your own food and drink. If your kids are like ours, they were hungry and thirsty every 5 mines, so it cost us a fortune.
USEFUL THINGS
The good thing to know is that there are a number of facilities, which do come in very handy.
GUEST SERVICES
The staff at Lego land are full of good information and are very helpful. These guest services are located at the beginning and in MY TOWN. It is especially useful, if you did not get there by car or bus, in other words a taxi, to re-book one at the end of the day.
MEETING POINTS
There are a number of meeting points within the park, in case you get separated from your party. In fact if you have a mobile phone, you will get a sticker to put on the back of your child’s jumper with your number on, should they disappear on one of the many fantastic rides. I thought that this was a brilliant idea. Maybe, supermarkets and shops should adopt this idea.
FIRST AID
Located in MY TOWN, Lego land has qualified and trained first aiders who are always on hand.
BABY CARE CENTRE
Located in MY TOWN, this area offers a private place for mothers to feed their babies and change their nappies
KENNELS
Of course, pets are not permitted in Lego land, (why should someone want to talk one their I do not know). So kennels are provided during your stay
PUSH CHAIR HIRE
Push chairs and Wheel chairs are available for hire from the big Lego shop at the beginning.
SHUTTLE BUS
There is a shuttle bus, which runs to and from Windsor Town Centre every 30 mins
So I would defiantly go again, it is fun for all of the family, there are also amazing views of Windsor castle in the back ground, with the occasional fly past by Concorde.

...~ Windsor, and more specifically Windsor Castle, has been the home of English Kings and Queens at least since the times of Henry 1st, and most probably even before that.

Advantages: Picturesque and unusual town centre, variety of shops, sightseeing opportunities, restaurants Disadvantages: Very busy in high season, expensive to visit the castle, can be difficult to park
I have visited Windsor on two occasions now (well, twice that I remember – I actually lived in Maidenhead as a baby and was probably taken on shopping trips there whilst in my pram!) The first time was for a relatively flying visit whilst staying with a friend in Feltham, and the second was on a day trip with my Mum and Dad. Having lived close by for a number years I thought they would appreciate a trip down memory lane, and I had enjoyed my first ... ...Windsor is easily accessible off the motorway and is very well sign-posted once you are on local roads. There seem to be a few different signs you can follow: Windsor Old Town, Windsor Castle, Legoland Windsor etc. but mysteriously they all seem to end up in the same place, so don’t worry too much if you think you’ve gone the wrong way! There are plenty of car parks in the town centre, the majority of which are short stay and consequently quite expensive, ...

Windsor Great Park is huge. Oceans of green space for the kiddies to run about it, but be warned that a well-used road runs through the middle of it. As well as containing private royal residences, it's also home to the Kennedy Memorial, Savill Gardens and Runnymede (King John, Magna Carta and all that, but it's an indeterminate ...

Windsor is home to very best visitor attractions, nice shopping and dining and many more famous royal events. Windsor is one of the loveliest towns I have ever seen in UK.
