As many will know, I am not very comfortable with flying at all. I am scared to death, always feel claustrophobic on any plane, and further more I am really fussy on what airline I choose. Normally I take the cowards way out and use a boat to get to my destinations, but as you will know this is a lot more time consuming and not very convenient, so I just have to grit my teeth when it comes to flying if I want to go and visit the lovely parts of the world out there.
Normally I choose British airways or easy jet as I have found them really reliable in the past, but as I unwillingly fly quite often now, prices can be somewhat unaffordable at times.

Wizz Air started in 2004 and is already one of the largest CEE based low cost airlines and rapidly emerging in Central and Eastern Europe. All aircrafts have the latest technology, and are very comfortable. Wizz Air quickly became registered in London, with services flying to Hungary and Poland at very low cost. Rapidly becoming wider known, the company is expanding rather fast, and flight destinations are increasing.

My own experience………..
I used this company on my flight from London Luton too Katowice airport in Poland. For me and my partner, the return flight cost us £16.00 each which included VAT, tax, in flight meal, and travel insurance. I booked online (www.wizzair.com), and found it very simple, and felt safe giving my details. It was fast and easy, and took 5 minutes only. Once I had given the details online, I simply printed out the last page (like it asks you to do), which had all my flight times, how much I paid, my reference number and insurance details. Upon our departure day, after finding the right check in desk at London Luton airport, I handed over the sheet with our passports and it was done. Simple and easy. The service was very friendly, which to me always makes the flight a lot better, and they all speak very good English, if they were not English already. The plane itself was an Airbus A320 young aircraft, which actually sounds small, but was quite big in fact. The leather seating was very comfortable, with plenty of space. The in flight meal was a cottage pie, which I personally found very nice. From checking in and getting on the aircraft, to receiving your luggage at my chosen destination was very prompt indeed, I have actually never known a service as fast. The flight was on time in both directions.
Any niggles?……….
Any niggles I would have of this company would be very small. I had a Visa card to book my flights, but I did notice they do not except Solo or switch unless you book a return flight in the UK, (not much of a niggle really). And the obvious one would be not many destinations from the UK yet other than Poland, Hungary, Croatia and Bulgaria, although you can reach many more destinations using this airline from different countries, for example Kato ice (Poland) too Rome. Other than this, their were none in my view.
How to book……..
Like many companies now, booking online is cheaper. If you visit www.wizzair.com, and click book online, they have a very simple format, and booking takes around five minutes.
If you want to book this in an alternative way, you can also phone them (telephone number given on website), or ask your travel agent about Wizz Air flights.
Overall…
I would recommend this company if you are looking for cheap flights to the destinations this company provides, they are very prompt in everything they do, and very friendly. The planes are comfortable with more room than most of its size. I would be definitely using this company again as I found them very helpful and reliable. Although still a young company, it would not surprise me if this airline expands even more at a rapid rate than it is doing already, and become one of the best European airlines. My advice if you are interested is to just check out the website and have a browse.

I used Wizz Air for a business trip from Luton airport to Katowice airport. Overall, I was impressed by the service from a low cost airline. Probably knowing that it was low-cost also helped to manage my expectations.
Check in at both Luton and Katowice was relatively easy. Yes, there were queues, but i don't know of any airline that doesn't have queues these days. The check in staff were friendly and helpful.
Crowd control at the departure gate ... ...to ground control rather than Wizz itself.
There are no "outstanding" perks, complimentary drinks and suchlike as other airlines (eg BA) do, but we were going for business not pleasure. Even if it was pleasure, i'm sure i can wait for 2 1/2 hours before needing to eat (as that's about the time it takes to fly from the UK to Poland).
Would i use Wizz Air again? The answer is definately "yes". For the cost, it is a very cheap way of getting to poland, ...

This is for all potential travellers with this airline. I have used them since they first came on the scene a few years back, regularly flying 6-10 times a year. They have always been good in all aspects of the business...... until this February 2009.
Over the last year they've resorted to very under hand tactics to fleece the unsuspecting customer. Namely if you book flight for you and 3 friends, they'll charge you a credit card handling fee for ... ...a whopping 8, yes 8 times they charge a fee to process your card. Now any mathematician will tell you 8 times £4 is £32!!! That's odd because they only charge your card once, and the fee therefore is £4. A profit of £28 on their part!
Also, after you've selected your special cheap flight and entered your passenger details they then bring up the screen with the additional charges such as the extra £15 for you to take a suitcase on. Pretty dumb when ...

I have flown with this company quite a few times (10 times or so) between Bucharest and London.
Company:
From what I understand the company is Hungarian with 8 operating bases to Katowice, Warsaw, Gdansk and Poznan in Poland, Budapest in Hungary, Sofia in Bulgaria and Bucharest and Cluj in Romania, offering flights to over 50 destinations and 100 routes in Europe. It's quite a young company, considering their first flight took off in May 2004.
... ...on board. The seats are single class only, there is no seat assignment so you sit wherever you can. If you are picky about your seat and do not like to fight with 100+ for a window seat, take advantage of the pre-booking (2. 5 euro for bus, 4 euro for aircraft per flight during booking, more after booking) or extra legroom(5 euro during booking, 10 euro after booking).
Luggage:
The limit is 20 kg and they make no exceptions. They will ask you to ...

I booked a flight for my girlfriend from Katowice to Gatwick for Saturday, March 29th 2008. The booking appeared to be completed successfully using their using their online booking system at www.wizzair.com. A payment of 208 zl (£47) for the flight was taken on my credit card. At the end of the booking process a sum of 12 zl (£3) was shown as pending. I presumed that this was a credit card fee and that it would be taken later as there is no restriction ... ...girlfriend arrived at the check-in she was told that her booking was pending (even though payment had been taken and her name was on the passenger list) and she could not be checked in. She went to speak with the Wizzair representatives who first contacted their Wizzair's office in Warsaw and eventually Wizzair's head office in Hungry. Neither office was able to confirm the status of the booking or explain why there had been a problem. I have been ...

I have only used Wizz Air on the Liverpool - Katowice route. Using Liverpool airport is a God send because I don't have to use Manchester. At the other end Katowice's airport is small, not many planes land there each day. This is just the way I like it!!
Booking online is fairly simple like other budget carriers. There are more and more destinations opening up into central and eastern europe. Flights also leave UK airports from Luton, Glasgow and ... ...says Liverpool to Krakow with Wizz Air. The flight is to Katowice Airport (good way north of Katowice) which is nearly 2 hours drive away. Wizz do operate a bus or mini-bus to Krakow but this first drives into the city centre of Katowice and seems to take forever!
Secondly the flights can be at unsocialable times, such as arriving early hours of the morning or leaving 6 am in the morning.
Thirdly the taxes seem to be higher when booking through ...

a DJ. WizzAir had a problem with their water, so there was no coffee available either.
Having touched down in a field somewhere near France (the airport is located a ridiculous 120km from the city) after an incredibly uncomfortable and irritating flight, we collected our bags and made our way through border control. All very Germanic and efficient.
The exchange rate at the airport was awful and as our intentions were to buy a car to take down to West Africa and sell, we could do with saving every bit of money we had - the 12 euro bus at an awful exchange rate was out of the question. The American friend in question is a huge sufferer of bad luck and felt our chances of building on the naff flight with two guys hitchhiking looking like junkies from the lack of sleep and cold were minimal. Mr. Positive here though thought differently.

I went to Gdansk in Sept 07, and had a great 3 days, the whole trip was an absolute bargain. We flew with WizzAir from Doncaster and stayed at the budget GRYF HOTEL which is fairly central and next to the anchor statue memorial, and just a short walk from the main sights. We took a train to Sopot for a day to visit the beach which cost around 40p for a return ticket. Sopot is very nice and has a huge strip of bars and restaurants down a long pier to the sea. After a short walk down the beach we stumbled upon beach bar where we sampled a few more local beers. Amazing and was really hot weather, so we had chosen a good day for it. Sampled many polish lagers over the 3 days i was there and ate nice food. Pizza, pasta ( not very Polish i know) and as a last night treat to use up some Zolty, we went to one of the nice restaurants next to ...
