Wolverhampton city centre has lots of shops of all different kinds. The Mander centre is the main shopping arcade and on a weekend their is usually some kind of entertainment on either singing or somehing for the kids to keep them occupied. Beatties is just outside one of the entrances to the Mander Centre. Its like the harrods of Wolverhampton and sells pratically everything. Well not everything but it is a really big shop. Theres a hairdressers, electrical department, clothes department, perfume department etc..
Wolverhampton it also famous for the Prince Albert statue which stands just outside the main high street. The younger generation call it 'The moth'. It was crowned their many years ago by Prince Alberts wife Queen Victoria. Buses run 24/7 in and out of the city and their is a major bus station with buses which go many places around the West Midlands. Their is a train station not far from that and taxis run all the time. As far as I know their isn't any guided tours around the city but you could do that yourself by hopping on a city centre bus which goes through the city down to the bus station and these buses are also free.
I think Wolverhampton is a great city just to go and visit. I have lived here all my life and would recommend it for people to come and view and to see what they think.
Advantages: Great variety, close together Disadvantages: None
...variety on your night out Wolverhampton is the place to go. Within 100 metres of the so called arts & entertainment quarter (which has been on the councils plans for nearly ten years but never fully realised) there are around two dozen pubs and clubs atering to every taste.
Starting from the bus and train station entrance to the town here are just a few of the more notable.
First on your right heading into the town centre is Flares - compact, loud ... ...a succession of disco hits. The inside is decorated with so-called 70's style accessories and the staff all wear silky shirts and afro wigs. Like any parody of the times it goes way over the top (I grew up in the 70's and don't remember it being like that). But it is a fun place. The Moon Under The water is usually packed to rafters with people who have been to are are about to go to the Grand theatre across the road. If you like busy, it is alright ...

...is Wolverhampton. The area around Wolverhampton was one of the greatest centres in Europe for the crafting of wonderful painted enamels. Enamel ware has retained its popularity to this day. Not only is it beautiful, but it also can be a good form of investment. Quality pieces can bring hundreds of pounds at auction. If you're interested in buying some pieces, the best places to ...

...to be able to add Wolverhampton to the Ciao City Guide at last, following the recent granting of city status to this historical town in the West Midlands.I live just a few miles from the new city and have worked and shopped there for over fifteen years. The markets, indoor and outdoor, and recently revamped, offer quality and value for money. The fresh produce, fruit and veg, meat and fish are second to none. Advantages: Centralised shopping. Near the centre of the motorway network. Disadvantages: None that I'll admit to.
I moved to Wolverhampton 26 years ago, and have yet to find a better shopping centre anywhere in the UK. Most cities have a large sprawling centre with several distinct shopping areas. Wolverhampton, which was, for many years, the largest town in Britain without city status, has evolved in a way that all the main shopping is within an area of less than one square mile. The Mander Cente and Wulfrun Centre are joined at the hip and hte majority of ... ...Public transport from and around Wolverhampton is pretty good. The bus station and rail station are next to eachother and are a little out of town but there's a free bus to and from the town centre to make up for it. You can get busses to almost anywhere in the country from the main bus station, and the rail station is on the main line from Liverpool to London and all the inter-city trains stop there, along with lots of local trains. Busses and trains ...

...is my second year in Wolverhampton and I can seriously say I hate the place. Unfortunately I am a student here and I have got another year and a half to go before I can escape for good. I will not be returning if I can help it. When I first looked around the area I thought it was quite nice, big town centre, football ground (even though I am a villa fan!) and the university looked okay. I obviously didn’t look hard enough. Advantages: Clean, efficient, especially in rush hour Disadvantages: Can be cold waiting for a tram!!
the West Mids are a friendly bunch. It?s not unusual for them to stop the bus & get out of their ?cab? to help old ladies or struggling mums on or off and I?ve never had one drive away when they could see I was rushing to catch it (unlike here in Leicester where the bus drivers seem to take great pleasure in watching you run through the rain in their rear view mirror as they speed away).
http://www.travelwm.co.uk/ has all the information you could possibly need for the bus service, including a ?mail and ride? facility which enables you to order timetables to be delivered to your door!
Generally the public transport inWolverhampton and the West Mids is reliable, but then it wouldn?t be ?public transport? if a few buses weren?t late every now and again ? that?s par for the course I think. It?s also not expensive, and Metro also do special ...
