The Wombats Hostel chain is among the best in the business and The Lounge does not disappoint. Of the two Wombat Hostels in Vienna, The Lounge is marginally the better of the two, for location if nothing else. However, both are close to the Westbahnhof and local transport hubs.
The hostel was clean and each guest receives a linen pack. Large lockers are available free of charge and there is no need to bring your own padlock. The Internet was a little expensive, and I would recommend giong a few doors down to an Internet cafe which is much cheaper. The all-you-can-eat buffet was very good value and there are also reasonably priced laundry facilities.
The staff were extremely friendly and reception is open 24/7.
The only criticism would be the price, but Vienna is an expensive city and when compared to similar priced hostels, Wombats would easily get my vote.
