Advantages Large, good connections, family friendly!
Disadvantages Near a railway track
This house is perfect for any large group! There is plenty of sleeping space; double beds, singles and cots. All the rooms are en-suite which guarantees privacy. The attic space has been converted and would make a great room for kids to have their own holiday space. I had a very comfortable couple of night's sleep indeed.
The whole house is decently furnished, there are plenty of sofas and some games and books are already in the house. The kitchen is small but well equipped with a huge fridge and an excellent cooker in case you fancy staying at home! The conservatory is a delighful place to sit and the dining room table can accomodate everyone which makes meal times real good fun!The outside area of the house, to the back, is a great space for barbeques and sunny breakfasts. The only downside is that it looks out onto the railway track. Trains are not too frequent and are gone pretty quickly so it's not too bad. The BBQ and outside eating area are beautifully tiled and would be great in sunny weather!
One of the best things about Woodside House is how well equipped it is for children; there are high chairs and travel cots, as well as standard cots. Also plastic crockery and cutlery, games and books.Woodside House can also be great accomodation for a group of adults too - we went on my sister's hen party! It was like being in school dorms, the ground floor is so open plan it was easy for everyone to be sociable, but not on top of one another. The price is also very reasonable, given that we went just as the schools had broken up. I can imagine it changes for peak season and the winter months, but it was a lot cheaper than any of the other large cottages we looked at.
Ambergate is a small village complete with pub, cafe and chinese restaurant. The pub is very nice and not too badly priced. There is also a train station which you can see from Woodside House with connections to most large places in the district. The house is in an ideal location for any walking enthusiasts, as the Peak District is right there! Indeed the house come with a veritable library of leaflets about things to do, see and eat in the area!I would 100% recommend Woodside House, it has everything a holiday house requires and is situated in a beautiful part of England!
