Woraburi Sukhumvit Hotel and Resort, Bangkok

Advantages: Big room, great service, nice pool, good location
Disadvantages: No free internet

...I stayed at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok from June 27th to June 29th 2008. I have been to Bangkok a few times before and I have stayed at places like Lebua, Rembrandt, Majestic, Dusit Thani etc so I feel that I do have some experience when it comes to Bangkok hotels. The purpose of this visit was just rest and relaxation. We arrived at the hotel in the evening and I was assigned to room 2007 on the 20th floor. The service was good upon arrival by the way…they helped us with our suitcases and it was sent to my room a few minutes after I had gotten there. When I came to my room and opened the door the room was bigger than expected. First of all there was a small hall with tiles before you got into the actual room which had carpet on the floor. .... Facilities in the hotel include, a swimming pool. The pool is fairly small, but dduring our stay there we never saw anybody else use it. There are a few sunloungers for those who like to catch some sun. There is also a small bar and a number of restaurants. Breakfast (which was included in the price) was in the style of a buffet. There was a mixture of hot and cold foods and fresh juices to choose from. There is a small shop outside the hotel which sells drinks, snacks at a much lower price than from the room mini bar. The location of the hotel is a little further out of the centre of Bangkok than I would normally opt for, but the subway (MRT) made up for this. The subway was approx 10 minute walk from the hotel and for a small fee (10 Bahts) the main tourist areas ie Sukhumvit could be reached in about 15 mins (much quicker than... Read review

...My partner and I stayed at the Davis Bangkok last year whilst on our gap year, and it was the most memorable hotel that we visited. Slightly out of town, and reasonably dear (£45 pere night) located in the quieter Sukhumvit area, we felt that it was a good base to rest in before entering the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, via the skytrain. Our room was in the annex that is a one minute walk from the main hotel, this section being more recently built. The hotel prides iself on being a 'boutique' hotel with ultimate care taken over interior design, which showed throughout. The room was decorated in a contemporary style and though the view wasn't spectacular, the room made up for it. The bathroom was large and had marble floors, with a bath and seperate shower.
