Advantages: Cathedral, river, shops, need I say more? Disadvantages: Can't think of any
Worcester is situated in the centre of England, south of Birmingham and north of Cheltenham, and is easily accessible from the M6. I recently visited Worcester with my partner who was on a course there for two days. This meant that I had to amuse myself in Worcester during the day whilst he was working (sounds good to me!) I was very impressed with the shopping centre. There is a good mixture of the well-known department stores and other more intimate ... ...armour from the Battle of Worcester in 1651. Look above the door to see a craving of the head of Oliver Cromwell apparently held up by nails through his ears! This is a sign of Worcester’s lack of support for the Roundhead cause. The Royal Worcester Porcelain Company is situated opposite the Commandery and offers factory tours, a chance to paint a plate, and shopping for both seconds and the perfect Royal Worcester Porcelain. The Dyson Perrins ...

Advantages: Variety of shops, cathedral, scenery Disadvantages: Underwater in the winter!
...mind, the best place in Worcester for fat-filled, gooey cakes, something for which I have a particular weakness. Obviously, Worcester's other major feature is the River Severn, and not just during floods. Thomas Telford's elegant ... ...is finding a part of Worcester that *isn't* in the river...)
Shoppers are well catered for in Worcester, with a wide variety of places to spend too much money. At first sight, the shopping area appears to be simply the long, pedestrianised Foregate, but in fact there is another street (The Shambles) parallel to this, two shopping centres (Crowngate and Lychgate), and many side- and back-streets, all of which are worth nosing around. You can spend ...

Advantages: Fantastic nostalgic decor and food Disadvantages: Bit tawdry and tired
...the world in general and Worcester in particular. Most had smokers coughs and were hunched over their instant coffees.
The breakfast was a real artery clogger, fried egg, bacon and sausage, no doubt cooked in lard, baked beans, fried tomato, white bread toast and a portion of real butter, washed down with a cup of tea so strong (as my nan would say) that a mouse could trot across the surface. All served on an oval white plate which sat on the formica ... ...All for £3.60. And to top that, a view onto the busy street beyond, just watching the worls go by.
Fantastic. I am generally a very healthy eater and would normally shun this sort of food, but a little of what you fancy once in a while is great, I absolutely loved it.
