This pub is run by the chain Brewers Fayre and is always busy when we have been. (A good sign ey) It is located close to the A580 in North West Manchester. Worsley and Boothstown are the closest districts to the pub.

It is located next to the Marriott Hotel, which is probably why it has so much business. There is not much else around this area unless you don’t want to have a drink and you can take a drive to Tyldesley or Swinton and eat there.
The restaurant is set back off the main road next to a golf course and is well maintained. The gardens around here are always well kept and well lit at night.
The Brewers Fayre has always been one of my favourite pub chains because of the choice of food. We also regularly receive vouchers from them to get a meal free or a discount off our final bill, which always helps.
This pub looks like it was converted from an old mansion. It still has a thatched roof and its traditional fireplaces.
It seats around about 200 people and there is a bar if you just want to have a drink.
It tends to attract the more up market of people which always makes it a nice place to visit. Most people are pleasant and friendly when ever we have gone. This probably helps because the hotel is next door too.
It could do with being decorated again. All the paint is peeling and the paper is coming away from the walls in places and it is looking a bit grubby inside, but certainly not enough to put you off your meal.
The service in there is always of a high standard. You get served within an acceptable time, you always receive what you expect to, and the food is always well cooked and hot when brought to your table.
There is also a childs menu available so you don’t have to worry if you cannot get a baby sitter. They also provide your children with crayons and colouring books. Which is great as it stops them getting board because if I remember when I was a kid we hated waiting for things. I haven’t changed much though. I still hate waiting now. (he he he). Unfortunately there is no play area for the children like there is at some pubs.
They have a great choice of food available. For children it is burgers and chips, Spaghetti bolognaise, fish fingers, chicken nuggets etc. (all the usual for children) and for adults you have a choice of starters from prawn cocktail, Pate, soup of the day, garlic mushrooms, spicy prawns, potato skins or if you are really hungry you can share an ultimate combo, which consists of garlic mushrooms, chicken goujons, scampi, onion rings, shrimps, potato wedges and garlic bread with a sour cream and barbecue dip. This one is my favourite as you get a choice. The starters range from £2.95 for the soup to £6.95 for the combo which is not bad really considering the service you get and the portions are also generous.
On to mains. You have a choice of lots here mixed grills, steaks, gammon steaks, casseroles, Lasagne, Roast Chicken, Fish and Chips, Sausage and mash, Cottage Pie, Fisherman’s pie, Cajun Chicken, Salads, Curry's, Chilli.
They also do a good choice of deserts from traditional ice cream which is £1.95 up to about £3.95 for a cheesecake.
You can also have a choice of coffees such as cafetierre, filter coffee, espresso, cappuccino, late and cheese and biscuits to finish your meal with.
They also stock a wide variety of beers, wines and spirits. Also alcopops are available. All at normal pub prices.
The toilets are also always very clean and well stocked and everything always seems to be in good order such as the taps, hand driers.
This reastuarant always appears very clean and hygienic and although you cannot see the chefs kitchen I trust that they are cleaned regularly and provide us only with the freshest of foods.
Whenever there has been a spillage you will also always see the staff getting the bits to clean it up imeadiately.
The Brewers Fayre has the same menu throughout the country and the same offers so if you can’t make it to this one don’t worry.
You can find one near you. Go to www.brewersfayre .co.uk and it will tell you the nearest one to you if you put your post code in.
Advantages: Most staff, family atmospheare, large beer garden! Disadvantages: always busy!
after now working there for over a year i can give u a good description of what the place is like! I would say it is a good family pub but it is not the place for the younger generation!
