Advantages: Great sandy beaches, lots to do, loads of historical interest in castle Disadvantages: Can be a bit tacky, and gets very crowded on hot sunny Bank Holidays
.... You might recognize this from the closing act of the film 'Little Voice', starring Jane Horrocks and Ewan McGregor. This beach is packed on sunny summer days, and there are often sandcastle competitions. There is also a ball pool, and donkey rides. Across the road, which runs alongside the beach all the way around both bays, are amusements and gift shops.
We see much of the same as we walk along, heading towards the imposing castle in the distance. But before we get there, there is a working harbour to contemplate. Lobster pots are piled up against the wall, and seagulls scavenge around for stray fish dropped. We also pass the lifeboat shed, where we can look at the lifeboat and donate a few pence to the cause, and one of Scarborough's two Tourist Information centres. At the harbour, we can take a speedboat ride for £2.50; a ten...

Advantages: lovely beaches, sea air, accessible to other areas, York, moors, dales Disadvantages: can be very busy sunny days, some areas getting rundown.
..., there is an increasing number of good shops, Debenhams to name one in the Brunswick shopping centre, M&S, Matalan the newest arrival, WHS, Boots, Woolworths, Argos to name just the biggest and there is a wide range of local shops as well.
Restaurants in the town centre are the usual Pizza Hut, Macdonals, Burger King along with several more other local restaurants which serve delicious food from Italian, Indian etc.
Nightlife is very active with a wide of pubs and several night clubs including Boleyns, Laughtons, and the George hotel which are my choice for the better ones. There are several others, but being a mother of 2, - - - I don't get out much !!! so aren't too upto date with the local nightlife.
One thing I think Scarborough lacks is more to do for the younger generation if it is a wet day. When it is wet, whatever there is to is usually...

Advantages: Something for everyone Disadvantages: The weather can be very bracing!
...Scarborough is a resort, spa and fishing town with twin bays connected by a coast road, which winds its way around the foot of the cliff on the top of which stands Scarborough Castle.
The south part of the town is centred on the harbour and is the more commercialised of the two parts. The harbour itself is well used by both fishing vessels and pleasure craft. There are lots of slot machine arcades, cafes and pubs all along the harbour side, making for a busy atmosphere in the summer. At the far south of this part of the town is the Grand Hotel standing majestically on the cliff top and the main theatre of Scarborough. The shopping area is situated behind the Grand Hotel and is a good mix of High Street favourites and seaside gift shops.
The north part of the town is altogether quieter being centred on a lovely park with landscaped...

To begin with, there was very little space in the car park when we arrived, we just about managed to squeeze into a space but our driver had to get out the passenger side it was such a tight fit!
We later found out more guests would be arriving and were more

I love my Dyson, I have done since the day I bought it. BUT it does have a downside - with three fluffy cats running about the house a fair bit of cat fur gets deposited and my Dyson was not great at getting the stair carpet clean. The tools that come more
