...Philadelphia is like a little New York
Ahhhh to see New York without the crowds. This is the challenge.
I love Philadelphia.

I’ve found that the best time to visit Philadelphia is on Memorial Day [May 31 of every year].
Philadelphia celebrates Memorial Day in a big way, yet there are no major crowds. [Guess everyone hasn’t found out about this yet].
We went to the celebration by accident. We had just come to see parts of Philadelphia in general and wanted to see the LIBERTY BELL.
And right across from there, all of a sudden, there was an assembly of people who were dressed like colonial men and women. And, there were men who were uniformed with the rifles and all.

...Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love is in my opinion one of the best cities to visit in the USA. It is situated on the Delaware river, right next door to New-Jersey and just 90 miles from New-York.
Between 1790 and 1800 Philadelphia was the capital city of the USA and is steeped in American History with a multitude of places to visit.
The skyline of the downtown area (known locally as 'centre city') is so similar to Canary Wharf in london's East End that on my first visit on looking out of my hotel window on Benjamin Franklyn Boulevard I thought I was back home.
Part of the downtown area is dominated by the Old arts district which comprises of the 45 acre Independance Park where you can find The Liberty Bell exhibition and Independance Hall, (where the American constitution was drafted and signed).
Also you can visit...

...One of the best cities I have visited with lots to see and do. Arriving at Philadelphia's International Airport, get a train SEPTA for $4 to downtown. I stayed at a B+B because there is so much to do and you only need somewhere cheap to sleep. B+B center city has lots of rooms and I stayed ther for $65 per night In the city centre.
Lists of must see visits should include; Independence National Historic Park which has Independence Hall and Liberty Bell, Society Hill, Rittenhouse Square and the Philadelphia Museum of Art which was made famous by Sylvester Stallone running up its steps in the film Rocky....
