Advantages: Close to the airport for transfers, Great Food. Disadvantages: Lots of seaweed gets washed up on the beach.
Flight Out:
I used Virgin Atlantic who fly out here. The flying time is 8 hours but, because of the time difference, it was the equivilent to a 4 hour flight (great). Of course this means the opposite coming back. Its 8 hours flying but you have to add 4 hours onto the time. Not so good
Landed:
The resort is within a 10 minute drive of the airport. Once there, the drive with the coconut palm trees gives you the clues that you've well and truely arrived.
All in:
The hotel is fully-inclusive so all the food (even in the 2 specialist food restaurants) is all in, as are MOST drinks. If you want a bottle of 'champers' with a meal, this is extra.
Reception:
The reception staff are helpful and friendly but with any complaints, if you should have any, ask to speak to the manager. The counter is a long one and can cope with quite ...
Advantages: Far too many too many to mention. Disadvantages: Haggling at the Bazaar
We rarely spend Christmas at home and prefer to get away from the miserable English weather to somewhere hot, but our choices are normally limited. This Christmas just gone we decided to go to Egypt where we knew we would be guaranteed the sun.
We stayed at the Reef Oasis Blue BayResort and Spa from 21st December 08 until 2nd January 09.
The hotel is situated just outside Ne'ama Bay at Sharm El Sheikh, just a 15 minute drive from Sharm airport. Situated in the Sinai Peninsular and overlooking the Beautiful Red Sea.
I should mention this is classed as a 5* hotel and is all inclusive. (643 rooms on two floors)
First Impressions
On arrival we found ourselves travelling along a very grand, tree lined driveway, the trees were dripping with fairy lights, it was like entering Santa's grotto, very, very magical ...
Advantages: A lovely walk, a few interesting animals Disadvantages: Expensive, especially as it is over quickly
Towards the end of the summer holidays we were running out of things to do and getting slightly desperate, so we decided on a day trip to Cricket StThomas Wildlife Park which is located near Chard in Somerset. We have visited the park before, about six years ago, and from memory I think that I was a little unimpressed but we thought that we would give it a second chance. I unfortunately doubt I will be giving it a third chance.
~*~ Location ~*~
Cricket StThomas Wildlife Park is located on the A30, three miles away from Chard. It is signposted from the M5 and also the A303, so it is fairly easy to find. A large sign on the roadside indicates when you have arrived, and you have to drive down a long driveway to get to the car park. There is plenty of space to park free of charge. TA20 4DB for your Sat Nav.
