...Well now that my reviews for Chicago and Las Vegas have been completed I guess its time to move onto my third stop, don't worry only two more stops after this, in what was an amazing summer. The next leg of my journey took me to the state capital of WashingtonDC. The roots of American democracy and the political capital of the world. This was actually my last stop before coming back home, however I just felt like writing about this now. I had pre booked my ticket to DC whilst I was in London with American Airlines from Chicago; it set me back about £150, which for a peak time in mid July was not bad what so ever. Having stayed in DC for a week this review will focus more on the sights and places I visited, if I forget to mention the obvious places to see its because I didn't really go their and I therefore don't see the need to mention...

...THE TRIP:
My trip to WashingtonDC was a very educational, fun filled, and an exciting trip. I got to see things that I have never seen before. We arrived in WashingtonDC early Friday morning, our plans were to stay there for the weekend. I couldn't wait to start the sight seeing.

AFTER THE TRIP:
I would not do anything...

Its history is in stark contrast to its modern political face and the side that is shown in movies and on TV. What struck me immediately about WashingtonDC were the open spaces, not just in the parks and at the water front but also when simply walking down the street; it's a nice change from the claustrophobia of many US cities.
Because there was so much to see in WashingtonDC, we opted for a tour on one of the many open top buses that circle the city and surrounding area. At $39 for a 24hr, hop on-hop off pass, this was a real bargain and the best way to see everything in the city, in my opinion. From the war memorials and Arlington cemetary to the White...

Just got back from a lovely weekend in London and stayed at the the Washington Hotel in Mayfair. Do I reccommend this hotel - well it is good value. I booked direct from their website and it cost £89 plus VAT including full breakfast for two. This is for more
