Advantages: Lots to do Disadvantages: Food in the park not fantastic
Movie World
Movie World is described as Hollywood on the GoldCoast (granted smaller than the real thing). It includes thrill rides all-family fun with shows and attractions. Every corner you turn you feel like you have been placed in a cartoon. It is opened daily from 10am to 5.30pm. On Anzac Day it opens later at 1.30pm and it is closed on Christmas Day.
Warner Bros Movie World is located on the M1 Pacific Motorway at Oxenford, and is 21kms north of Surfers Paradise. You can get a shuttle bus that will run directly to the park from Surfers. We bought our tickets on the bus so we didn't have to queue in the long queues. Tickets cost $69 adult and $45 for a child. One Australian dollar equals to roughly 0.445 United Kingdom pounds.
**GUEST COMFORTS**
Guest services are at the front of the park once you go in the main doors ...
Advantages: Amazing beach and quality hotel with great service Disadvantages: None really
The GoldCoast International Hotel and Surfer Paradise is one of Australia's top venues. It is commonly called the GCI and despite its rather grand sounding name, it proved to be a friendly and relaxing place.
LOCATION
This 5* (listed as 4 or 4.5* in some places) is among the best I have stayed in. It is located 30 kilometres from Coolanguta and is a fabulous location not only for surfers, but also for families and couples. The main commercial centre is just half a kilometre away, so that's handy if you are there on business.
The beach is only fifty metres away and easily reached on foot and what a beach. If you have ever watched and longed for those golden Australian beaches shown on Australian soaps, this is it in real life. I could just imagine the cast of Home and Away, or Neighbours having a 'barbie' down there. My partner ...
Advantages: Location, equipment provided Disadvantages: Builidng work when we visited
We stayed here in May 06, which perhaps was not the best choice as there was building work going on in the hotel the first week and the pool was was closed the second week for more building work. There was also a new building being constructed across the road! Have been back to Broadbeach this year (not to the Phoenician) and all building work seems to be complete. The resort is well situated with the main restaurant area of Broadbeach around it. The Oasis shopping centre is across the road, and a monorail connects with Conrad Jupiters hotel/casino (didn't make use of the casino but they do have an excellent show there). However it is a short walk from the beach.
Our room was at the Oasis end of the resort and had three balconies. It was a very good size with combined lounge/dining room/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. There was air ...
