Advantages: You can see the most amazing view of the harbour.
Disadvantages: it is a bit pricey, but it's absolutely worth it!

...the picture so it looked more appealing... We couldn't be more wrong, when we arrived at the airport we got a car to the hotel, and I had never seen a better hotel location in ma life, it was exactly like the picture, maybe even better because I was really there, I got so excited, and Sydney has to be the best place for a holiday! I've still kept the brochure to this day, so I can tell you alot about it: - it has an amazing 32 floors - it has 508 rooms - and 48 suites - it has a great little restaurant, which you can get the best food! - it has a very nice little coffee shop - 24 hour room service - gift shops - cable/ satelite, minifridges, full kitchens in some rooms, phones (can make international calls) and many more! - spa, indoor pool, solarium, health club, sauna, massage rooms, jogging, tennis, squash, beach, sailing, water... Advantages: Superb service, good facilties, excellent food, reasonable prices

..., although to be fair it wasn't too far away as to be unwalkable. LOCATION & GETTING THERE This hotel is a fair way from Sydney Airport, and cost around AUD 65 in a taxi, the journey taking around 45 minutes in morning rush hour traffic. As I have already mentioned, the hotel was in the Sydney suburb of North Ryde near Chatswood, and a journey by bus into the centre took around 40 minutes. Daily bus tickets are available from the driver which cost AUD15 (c£6) and covered travel on all the city buses, trains and ferries. Consequently, if you like to be in the thick of things, then the Stamford Grand is not for you. However, if you are travelling on a budget and need to keep costs down, then believe me, you could do a lot worse. There is ample on site free parking for drivers, there is bus stops... Read review

Advantages: Central location right next to the Harbour

...I visited this hotel in April 2005 when visiting Australia. Great central location with views from many of the rooms of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Only a minutes walk from the harbour so you are right in the action! The hotel had recently been refurbished and was really classy. Staff very friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and comfortable. I had a fantastic view of the Opera House from the room and I could watch the sun rise every morning - Well worth it! I didn't have any meals in the hotel (breakfast wasn't included) but there are plenty of places to get a great breafast, this wasn't a problem.
