Advantages: Close to sea front and central areas Disadvantages: Traffic, late night noise from discos
...I have stayed in the Sheraton Moriah on a number of visits to Tel-Aviv. Subsidised Hotel rates are available through the Israeli export industry. The hotel is located directly opposite the marina and at the north end of the Tel-Aviv beach.
The hotel is in walking distance of a number of bars along the sea-front to the south. It is also 10-15 minutes walking distance of the Dizengoff Centre, Allenby Street and other central locations.
The Sheraton Moriah has business facilities located at the top of the building, with panoramic views over the city of Tel-Aviv and out over the Mediterranean Sea. Business facilities includes a free salad/breakfast bar, wireless internet access, free wine and beer.
The rooms are clean and tidy and more than adequate. The hotel is aging slightly but I find it a pleasant stay....

Advantages: Easy to find work Disadvantages: The hostels are expensive
...I ran out of money while backpacking round Asia
so off to Isreal. Found Kibbutz was hard work for no money and too little time off.
I worked in the dining room and the kitchen and I had to start at 6am! Preparing vegetables and if I was really lucky or unlucky I had to gut the fish!!Having a quick break for breakfast then working through to the middle of the afternoon.
The work was not very physical but when it is beautiful sunshine outside you don't want to be scrubbing the floor!
Finding work in TelAviv was easy used to clean an office a few times a week and work in a bar in TelAviv 3 nights a week. Made enough money to carry on the travels....

Advantages: cheap - but I would rather pay a bit more and avoid all the hassle Disadvantages: contrasting communication, no customer service, bad at handling problems
...We booked a car online in TelAviv Israel with Europcar. Because we arrived in the middle of the night at the airport, I had called 3 times in advance to avoid any problems, also with TelAviv directly. Upon arrival, no one is aware of my reservation (which was pre-paid!!), they try to give me a car anyway but require credit card validation (even though the car had been completely prepaid). They then stated there was a problem with my credit card. I offered to pay a deposit in cash, but that was not possible. I had to cancel, and go to AVIS where I paid with the same credit card without problems. Getting the prepaid money back from Europcar is a lot of hassle. Appalling customer service, and unfriendly staff in TelAviv. Never again!...
