Advantages: Special offers on drinks, comfortable Disadvantages: A bit young at the weekend
Yates's ruffled a few feathers a couple of years back when they decided to open a bar on Allerton Road, Mossley Hill. You see, although it is a heavily populated area for students there's also a very much middle-class middle-aged plus population here who did not want a noisy bar or puking teenagers. However, more people were in favour of the bar or else is would never have opened. To be honest, it was just what the area needed.
I'm not a fan of ... ...DRINKS
Yates's have a great selection of drinks and frequent offers. On the day we went you got a whole bottle of wine for the price of 2 large glasses (£5.40) - making it a saving of £2.60. You really can't complain for getting a bottle of Chardonnay (Santa Helena) in a bar for a little more than you'd pay in an off license. They stock red, white and fizzy wines so there's usually something to suit people of all tastes. The only thing they're missing ...

Advantages: sometimes a quick meal Disadvantages: more often a slow meal that is average
...Interesting place this - a promise of food within 15mins or your money back, excellent menu with a wide choice of food - snacks or meals - deserts, coffees. Too much for the humble work lunch brigade!
However, I have been to my local Yate's and got my money back pretty much every visit - not only has the food been late, but what is gains in tardiness it loses in taste, quantity - and edibility!
I have had food described in the menu only for it to turn up completely different, fish cakes that more resembled cricket balls! But, I have had salads that have been out of this world with the most devine if small sauces. My husband asked for some ketchup on his burger and was given a teaspoon serving in a small pot!
I wish that I could say the staff make up for it - they are obviously not interested in the customers, only their jobs...

Advantages: smart. classy, good range of drinks, ideal pre-club venue, loads of 'talent' to spot of both sexes! Disadvantages: not cheap
...The sheer ‘pulling’ power of a Yates’ makes ‘pairing up’ on a night out easy for blokes or girls!
Yates’ bars are always packed with well dressed, young, singles (or wannabe single!!) of both sexes. The girls will have their best ‘frocks’ on – you know the ones that cover the bare minimum. The lads will have their best designer gear on, ready for action. Plenty to drink and a bit of rumpy before clubbin,
The attraction of a Yates is obvious – they are trendy, bright, brash, noisy and as I said, packed. Most large towns seem to have a Yates’ these days. Smart, semi-clubby type Bars. Often with a DJ on a Friday or Saturday night. They tend to be ‘circuit’ pubs/bars i.e Groups of friends will go in, down a couple of drinks, move onto the next one (Litten...

...of years a lot of public houses have appeared in the centre. New additions include the Slurping Toad and Yates Wine Lodge. There is fierce competition now which is great news for the consumer. Various bargains can be found at lunchtimes and early evening to try and attract you into their establishment. Although what we really want is cheap booze.
Night Clubs
~~~~~~~~~~~
There aren't many in Camberley but then it isn't a huge place. Joe Banana's and JW's both play general pop music and generally fill up when the pubs chuck out. Yates Wine Lodge offer a coach service to a Night Club in Reading called Utopia.
Miscellaneous
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Arena is the local sports centre. It has all the usual facilities you would expect to find such as swimming pool, gym, squash courts etc.
There is also Robins Cinema which is not far from...
