This is one of a range of places to eat at Bluewater shopping centre in Kent. Parking at the centre is free or there are various bus services and a shuttle bus from the nearest train station - Greenhithe.
There is plenty of seating at Yo! Sushi, in my experience you will never have to wait for a table. There are booths around the sides for larger groups or more comfort - however I would recommend sitting on the stools facing into the conveyor belt and preparation area - as it is interesting to see the chefs at work.
The booths are really only suitable if you are ordering items from the menu. If you want to choose dishes from the conveyor belt, you will need to sit on the stools.
As th name suggests, this restaurant serves Japanese cuisine, primarily Sushi, although there are other items (e.g. soups, noodles) which can be ordered from the menu.
Unless you are ordering from the menu - eating here works as follows - freshly prepared covered dishes are (small size) are placed on a conveyer belt which passes around in front of you. You use the pictures in your menu to work out what you want to try (helped by the colour coding of plates), look out for it and grab it when it comes round!
When you have finished, your bill is worked out accoring to what you have consumed (the colour coded plates apply to different prices). This also means you can keep an eye on what you are spending and either have a very small snack or an extravagant feast!
Advantages -
Everything is very freshly prepared and there are systems in place to ensure nothing is on the conveyer belt too long.
There is a huge range of dishes to try - of course a lot of fish (salmon in particular) but also chicken, beef, rice and vegetables.
There are dishes suitable for vegetarians.
The menu is descriptive and useful
Prices are reasonable
Hygiene is very good - you can see exactly what the chefs are doing!
Staff are attentive and service is swift
You can pay £1 per head and help yourself to as much mineral water as you like, on tap in front of you. There are also refills on some other drinks.
If you can't see the dish you want, you can request that it be created for you.
There are also some authentic dessert dishes on the conveyor.
Fun and different from other dining experiences!
The downside -
You may not be able to identify the dish you want and end up with something you didn't mean to pick up.
You may spend a long time looking for the dish you want!
There are no alternatives to suit anyone with you who does not like this kind of food.
I would recommend trying this, it is tasty, enjoyable and fun!
