A pleasant Bed and Breakfast a short distance from the city centre. Family room on top floor not designed for tall people however! The staff were very accommodating and the breakfast was very nice and plentiful. Holmlea Guesthouse- an acceptable B&B in York

Advantages: reasonable price and free internet entrance.
Disadvantages: no lock in bathroom and no shower in peak time.

Before we started our trip we searched on the internet trying to find reasonably priced accommodation that ideally was close to the tourist areas of York. Most B&Bs and hotels we found charged at least £60 for a double room per night. However Holmlea was an exception. Stayed at the Ibis 4 Nights Commencing 1st Nov 2009

Advantages: Location- Close to center , It has Parking, Bar is nice
Disadvantages: Service is terrible, No Bath, food takes ages and was sub-standard

great service great value!

Advantages: value for money, size of room, cleanliness
Disadvantages: location ashame it wasn't a bit close to city

I stayed at the premier inn last month in a family room for just 65.00 for the night which I thought was an excellent price considering the size of the room. The room was very clean and above expectations. It is 3 miles from the city centre but very close to the park and ride just down the road which runs every ten minutes into the city centre we found this very usefull.
