A nice weekend away

Advantages: Comfortable and clean
Disadvantages: Had to get wet to get to the room

...The bathroom was an average hotel bathroom with a bath and a ‘monsoon’ shower over the bath. It is called a monsoon shower as it has a really large shower head and is really powerful, so it feels like you are showering in a monsoon! The bath was also really nice and deep. Review of Hotel du Vin & Bistro, York

The Grange, good but it should be exellent !

Advantages: Good location, nice food , wi-fi service provided
Disadvantages: Limited parking space, over priced

...I decided to try The Grange as it holds a very high reputation throughout York and is generally seen as a quality hotel. Anyway on to my stay at The grange, first impressions the building is situated within waking distance from the town centre which is handy but the building is not set back from the road so noise can become a problem in the front rooms as the road in which it is located (bootham) is a main road in York and is busy at most times.Next ...
...inadequate for a hotel of this size it has 40+ rooms with little room for more than 20 cars and also needs to allow space for people dining there but not staying in the rooms, this can get quite tricky as on our first visit our car had be moved twice in order for others to gain access. Review of Grange Hotel, York

For our child free weekend!

Advantages: Lots of ameneties on site with friendly and helpful staff.
Disadvantages: We have booked again and the room is £20 cheaper a night, so price vary dramatically!

...am I assumed that the Premier inn would be similar to there…..thankfully I was soooo wrong! This delightful hotel is based literally just on the wrong side of the “walls of York”, though please be warned from the main road it is a little deceptive as it has a hidden entrance for cars round the next turning and almost hidden by a taxi rank! Review of Premier Travel Inn York - City Centre, York

Lovely Lodges in the heart of a forest.

Advantages: Really nice woodland, gorgeous lodge and lots of wildlife!
Disadvantages: No instructions and confusing light switches... but only small niggles really!

Advantages: Good service, good value and clean
Disadvantages: Needs some modernisation, wi-fi would be good too!
