great service great value!
Advantages: value for money, size of room, cleanliness Disadvantages: location ashame it wasn't a bit close to city
I stayed at the premier inn last month in a family room for just 65.00 for the night which I thought was an excellent price considering the size of the room. The room was very clean and above expectations. It is 3 miles from the city centre but very close to the park and ride just down the road which runs every ten minutes into the city centre we found this very usefull. The breakfast was all you can eat for 7.50 and if one adult had this the children ...

Very disappointing
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Expensive mistake
We have never been so disappointed with a supposedly 'luxury' hotel. Despite booking a 'deluxe' room, the room was tiny, the bath was stained and suitable only for the short of limb, the 'castle' view was of the castle car park and the deluxe package of fruit, wine, dressing gowns was no where to be found. It was all hard work, phoning reception to point out everything missing, being woken by the cleaners at 8.50 on a Sunday morning, and being given ...

Hen night at Marriott York
Advantages: Location, facilities Disadvantages: maintenance/cleanliness
I spent an overnight weekend stay at this hotel earlier this year for my hen night. There was a group of 9 of us and we managed to get triple rooms (2 double beds) and the reception staff were helpful as I changed my booking twice due to numbers in my party. The hotel is greatly located a short taxi ride from city centre, costing about 7 pounds. The facilities were excellent and spending most of the afternoon in the spa it was a fairly cost effective ...

St Deny's, the clean hotel for my dirty weekend!
Advantages: Polite and helpful staff, clean hotel. Disadvantages: Bed a bot on the small side for my husband.
...the perfect hotel.
St Denys hotel, a small but very quaint hotel, housing 13 rooms only, but with it’s own parking facilities, the only pre-requisite my husband demanded, was the perfect choice so I picked it, booked it and f***ked off….. So, I went a bit Peter Kay then! After initially contacting the hotel directly, I was advised by the receptionist that if I booked it through the York tourist board site, via the St Deny’s link, I would be able ... ...it’s heyday was once the St Deny’s church rectory, the church still being there and providing a truly glorious view from your window in the morning, I have to say though, as the church is slapbang in the middle of a residential area, there were no peals of bells to be heard, though the bell tolls from The York Minster itself were much more regular!
The hotel, from the outside, was bright and cheery with there being an abundance of flowers and hanging ...
