The best hotel/attraction in Dubai

Advantages: Exclusive, brilliant, luxurious, great service
Disadvantages: very expensive

via a private curving bridge. By private I mean that you have to gain permission in advance in order to get access to the exclusive road leading to the very exclusive hotel. The Burj Al Arab is a worldwide icon and is one of the major reasons why many people visit Dubai. The Burj Al Arab was built to symbolize Dubai's urban development and huge economical growth. Work on the Burj Al Arab began in 1994 and finished in 1999. The hotel was built to resemble the sail of a dhow, which is a type of Arabian vessel. The Crown Prince of Dubai wanted the Burj Al Arab to be iconic, in the same way the Eiffel Tower is iconic in Paris. He wanted people to think of Dubai whenever the name BURJ AL ARAB was mentioned. The hotel cost a total of $650 million dollars to build and the task was completed by a UK based company. The Burj Al Arab was Dubai ...

Fantastic Luxury Hotel in Dubai

Advantages: Everything - a real experience hotel
Disadvantages: Cost - A little too far from Town for easy shopping/eating out

The Burj-Al-Arab (Arabian Tower) is Dubai and the UAE's answer to the landmark symbols of other countries, they compare it to the Eiffel tower (it's slightly taller by virtue of its mast) and other icons. The Burj is said to be the world's only 7 star hotel - this is something that has to be taken with a pinch of salt, hotel stars are usually awarded by national tourist authorities and in my opinion are rarely an indication of quality or value for money. I'm not sure who awarded the stars to this hotel but in this instance they are completely deserved and then more. From the moment we arrived at the airport we knew we were dealing with something special, the hotel's meet and assist "airport liaison" officer met us just before passport control - he took our hand luggage and walked us to the head of the queue, past the "priority ...

Chilled out in a Hot Dubai!

Advantages: good location, nice food lovely hotel
Disadvantages: none

which is like getting into the bath it was so warm (lovely though not refreshing!) From the beach you have a view of the ?palm?. The Jumeriah Palm is the first of the three man made palm islands being worked on right now in Dubai. Restaurants at the Mina ? there?s certainly something for everyone. The Dhow ? a floating restaurant awaits. A typical Arabian boat which has been transformed into a restaurant. This is a seafood restaurant and we didn?t eat here as we are not seafood eaters. We spoke to some other people who did go to the dhow and they said it was really nice. The Dhow is along the promenade but you don?t need to worry about getting there, the hotel runs buggys (like golfing buggys) down to the dhow and bussola restaurants at night so you can get picked up and dropped off you haven?t even got to walk anywhere!) Open ...
