...many places i have visited zante was probably one of the best for a group holiday (most likely 18-30s). It is a fun place that is not too large yet has everything you could want. We have been to Zante many times but this was our 1st trip after a 5 year break & whilst we found things had changed we still enjoyed our holiday, so much so that if we hadn't have already booked to go elsewhere this summer we would have returned for this years sumer break. ...water so watch your feet. zante has only one downfall .......... the airport!! The new arrivals was open last August when we travelled so this was a lot better than in previous years & I have just heard that the new departures terminal was being opened this week, so if this is the case this summer should be a great time to go to Zante. Last year, I holiday-ed to Zante in June with 4 other female friends. We stayed in the Dennis II apartments in Kalamaki ~4km from Laganas. The transfer from the airport is great, ~15mins, but you soon discover why. From my apartment I could see the airport and had aeroplanes flying past the apartment all the time (although thankfully not noticeable at night!). ...you. The scenery around Zante is breathtaking! The beach walk from Kalamaki to Laganas takes about 30minutes, but it is one we did nearly every day as we enjoyed it so much. Kalamaki beach is protected due to the turtles but that shouldn't affect your time on the beach at all. The turtle boat trip was a bit disappointing as we actually didn't get to see any turtles, but saw dolphins. It was definately a trip worth going on. The island boat trip ... Read review

I went to Allikanis in Zante in August 2004 with my best female friend. We wern't sure about the apartment at first, it was a bit simple, with just thin white sheets, and a shower room where there was just a drain in the middle of the bathroom, and the shower only had cold water. However, after a day, this was fine, the sheets kept us cooler in the very hot nights, and the cold water cooled us down after a day in the sweltering sunshine. The beaches ...
...very hot, bring your sun tan lotion!! Nightlife was a bit quiet, as for some reason tourism had subsided a bit. However the beach party was great! Shame we had to leave that night to go home! Advantages: Only 3 and a half hours from Gatwick, Friendly locals, views you must see before you die
Disadvantages: Airport is not the best

...let me explain the airport. Zante airport is notorious for being a nightmare, up until summer 2005 it was a very small terminal with one conveyor belt for 3 incoming flights worth of luggage in one go, and a departure lounge (if you can call it that) with no seats and a small kiosk that sells food and drink. ...day and seeing what else Zante has to offer. The island can be explored by boat or car/scooter. If you take a car here are a few places that you must visit. But if you go you must promise to leave them as you found them, as I have been going for the last 4 years and don't want my favourite places to change!
