Hotel Letsos, Alykanas, Zante...almost perfect

Advantages: Well situated, feels safe, good value for money
Disadvantages: Maid service, Bees, kitchen in rooms were very basic

...my boyfriend stayed at the Hotel Letsos in Alykanas, Zante in August/September 2008 after booking thtough Olympic Holidays. We'd read a lot of mixed reviews so we didnt really know what to expect! I'm not sure how much the hotel cost on its own, but we paid around £400 each for flights and accommodation for 2 weeks. Depending on what your looking for, we found it to be OK for us. Zante Maris Hotel

Advantages: Good standard/near the beach
Disadvantages: pool beds reserved at early times

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for the first time this year.We visited for 2 weeks in June. This was our 7th visit to the resort so we knew about this hotel having seen it being built. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but other deals are available. First impressions always count and on arrival at the hotel [3 hrs late] we were greeted by a cheerful member of staff even though it was 10 at night. The room itself was on the bottom floor ...

First impression of the restaurant was ok and all through our stay we had no reason to complain. Perfect Holiday

Advantages: Quiet, beachfront, great food, clean rooms
Disadvantages: Breakfast wasnt up to much!

We loved this family ran hotel from the minute we arrived and seen the location - it is set right in front of the most gorgeous beach and sea you could imagine! The room was small and basic but fortunately it was clean it had a double bed which was two beds pushed together, dressing table and wardrobe. The minus point about our room was that it was on the bottom floor, which could be described as the basement floor - there was no view from the balcony ...
...The plus point was that, as it was basement level, it kept really cool - as anyone who has been to Greece will know, this is a great plus point as it gets really hot during the day and night. We had breakfast in the hotel a couple of times and it wasn't great there were breads, cheese, cake (!), ham, boiled egg and cornflakes. We much preferred to go out for breakfast elsewhere. Worst Accomodation I Have Ever Stayed In!

Advantages: Good Location, Good Snack Bar
Disadvantages: Smelt, Full of Mosquitoes, Horrible Decor

We arrived very early in the morning and upon arrival the studios were nothing impressive. Our room smelt of dogs (i think it was the bleach they use out there) so the first thing we bought was air freshner! Also our room was full off mosquitos so if you get bitten alot i wouldnt recomend these studies. For the whole of the holiday we couldnt even use our balcony as we had a tree right outside and there were hundreds of them flying about. Also even ...
...Air Conditioning we had to pay 7 Euros per night for it and you weren't allowed fans so you basically had to pay for it as it was too hot to sleep at night and becuase of the mosquitoes we couldnt open the patio door! Tzante Hotel - Cheap, Fantastic pool bar, party resort

Advantages: Cheap, Fantastic pool bar, party resort
Disadvantages: noisy, basic

The hotel itself is your typical 18-30s resort, Noisy, full of chavs and very very basic. In my opinion you get what you pay for, we paided £245 for 2 weeks accomodation, flights and transfers! It's location however is fantastic and the pool bar is a major plus.
