A vibrant city

Advantages: Lots to see and do
Disadvantages: plenty of pickpockets around

Yes, believe it or not Harare is actually a really great city. Take it from me, I lived there for 2 1/2yrs, only leaving there in April last year (because I couldn't extend my visa any longer not because of the violence). For the really touristy places, the Kopje ( a "large" hill near the centre of the city) offers great views of the city. Mbari is one of the poorest areas of Harare, but also boasts the best market for buying souvineers, make sure ...
...flashing large wads of money or expensive cameras around or you won't have them for very long. Africa Unity Square, sandwiched between the luxurious Meikles hotel and Parliment buildings is a beautiful, small park, but again beware of pick-pockets. For the ultimate Western shopping experience Westage shopping centre on the northwest side of the city is a fabulous place to spend the day buying anything that isn't souvineers (books, clothes, etc). ...

One place everyone should see in their lifetime

Advantages: beautiful; abundant experiences; affordable
Disadvantages: currency fluctuations and political instability

...that have seen the wonderful Victoria Falls that can sit down and put the experience into words. Although visiting the Zimbabwean side of the falls is rather different to the Zambian side, the experience is unforgettable either way. There are different seasons during which Victoria Falls offers its visitors a different and yet still memorable experience. During the rainy season (Nov to Apr) the fury of the falls is so powerful that a little walk ...
...As any other top quality holiday resort, Victoria Falls is well equipped with places to stay and things to do. There is an abundance of wildlife to see, adrenalin experiences, sunset cruises, gambling and cheap African art sculptures to buy. One place everyone has to visit in their lifetime! ...

the place to be

Advantages: Best place ever
Disadvantages: very hot

Kariba is located at the north of the country just on the border between zimbabwe and zambia. I have always love going to kariba its the best place in the world. The only thing I hate is it gets so hot it gets hot.the best time to go is during the winter time which is from april to august. The best place to stay is kariba breezes.or if all hotels are booked go on a house boat.you won't regret it you can then go and see any number of wildlife. For ...
...in the water for two reasons there are alot of crocodiles in kariba.the best palce to visit i kariba is the senyati gorge its is very beautiful And I would recomend it to anyone. you can go fishing and go on safari drives in kariba. Amazing Country

Advantages: Cheap, beautiful weather, friendly, relaxing
Disadvantages: Current economic situation

I go to Zimbabwe every year for a holiday firstly because i've got family there but secondly because it's the most amazing country i've ever been to. The weather is gorgeous - lovely hot sunny days, the country is beautiful - open land with trees and birds singing, the people are friendly and it's really relaxing. There are many things to do in Zimbabwe, all very different and all for a fraction of the price you would pay here. Victoria Falls - ...
...A truley amazing place to go to and a definate must see. You can take a walk through the rainforest which is opposite the Falls and get drenched by the spray from the Falls. For the more adventurous there is White Water Rafting and Bungee Jumping. You can take one of the most famous sundowner cruises where you sit and relax in a boat sipping a glass of champagne watching for wild animals whilst the sun goes down. Victoria Falls is a tourist attraction ...

Memories of Mavuradhona

Advantages: Absolute freedom! Absolute quiet!
Disadvantages: no mod-cons such as electricity

Gee.. where to start... What a tranquil place!! Mavuradhona is similar to Kariba, excepting there is no water.. Unfortunately, I dont have any photographs of our trip to show you just how peaceful this area of Zimbabwe actually is. There are loads of elephant and other wildlife. If you like walking, there are plenty of hills to climb and the views from the tops are out of this world... The temperatures can soar to around about 40 degrees celcius ...
...Accommodation is very primitive and the "bedrooms" are miniature A-frames with thatched roofs and are only big enough to sleep one couple with a small kiddie in the middle.. The beds are mattresses on the raised decking which are very comfortable nonetheless.. Self catering, you have to ensure you have enough ice and a large enough cooler box to keep your food fresh. There are communal showers (the water is heated using fire) and the ameneties offered ...
