What attracts me to Zizzi over its rivals is the menu. As well as an eclectic mix of pizzas, there is an excellent selection of interesting and tasty pasta dishes and additionally salads. The pizzas are made with an extensive range of toppings including smoked salmon, anchovies, leeks, baby spinach, goats cheese, pancetta, artichoke, rosemary, crayfish, thyme, dill.

~ Prices ~ Zizzi provides good quality food at reasonable prices. Starters are priced from £3.10 to £4.45. Their pizzas are from £5.30 for a basic Margarita pizza, up to £8.50 for a Calzone de Pesci which contains oak roasted salmon. The menu also contains a wide range of pasta dishes, ranging in price from £5.80 to £8.65, and a small selection of main course salads, priced from £6.85 to £7.95. Desserts are priced from £2.25 for ice cream, up to £4.45 for a Mela Crocchate which is an Italian Apple and Amaretto crumble served with cream or ice cream.
It's possible therefore to have a 3 course meal, without wine, for under £15 per person.
~ The menu ~ What attracts me to Zizzi over its rivals is the menu.
I don't usually have a starter if I'm planning on a filling pizza but if you won't something to nibble while everyone else is having their starters, Zizzi offer a dish of mixed marinated olives that is a nice touch and good value at £1.95.
If pizza is not your thing but you enjoy pastas, you won't be disappointed by the menu at Zizzi. As well as offering the usual favourites such as Spagetti Bolognese and Lasagna, there are more unusual dishes such as Pappardelle Zafferno which contains pappardella pasta with crayfish and leeks with a saffron and mushroom sauce.
The selection of main course salads is imaginative. If you want a change from your usual Caesar salad you could try instead Insalata di Pollo which contains chicken, artichoke and grilled goats cheese.
You can have a very nice meal at Zizzi by just having main course but the starters and desserts are also good if you are having a more extensive meal. The starters menu is made up of a range of bruschetta, crostini and salads, while desserts are a mixture of fruit or chocolate based desserts including Italian favourites of Tiramisu and Torte di Limone.
~ The hard stuff ~ I've tried both house wines, red and white, and they are both very drinkable. Both are priced at £11.95 a bottle, or £4.20 for a 250ml glass. I actually think this is a little on the pricey side for a house wine, which could easily be provided for £10.95 a bottle and still be profitable for the restaurant. If you are looking to drink something a bit more special then in terms of a white, I'd recommend the Villa Mura Pinot Grigio at £13.95 a bottle, and for red, the Valpolicella Sartori Classico, at £13.85 a bottle.
Also available are champagne, rose wines, the usual range of soft drinks and beer. A 33ml bottle of Peroni is £2.95.
~ Service ~ Having visited Zizzi restaurants around two dozen times now I've never had a problem with service which has always been attentive and polite. They do not take bookings so it's possible that you have to wait as at peak time the restaurant can get busy but I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes.

Advantages: Food cooked freshly to order Disadvantages: No pineapple!
...and a beige shirt with Zizzi embroidered on the pocket. This is the uniform and it struck me as being practical and comfortable. Coats are hung up and the atmosphere is one of leisure and comfort. Tables are plentiful, as it is a large restaurant. During the day booking is not required but I would strongly advise it for the evening as it seemed very popular, as the tables filled during the lunchtime period.
In the background light music is played. ... ...again, I will look up Zizzi again. I would recommend it, as it cost no more that visiting any other pizza or pasta restaurant. Housewives as well as businessmen, plus families all used this restaurant. It seems to cater for everyone. In my opinion it is well worth a visit.

...ago I did go to Zizzi in Nottingham, which was just as good.
Zizzi is a pretty big place and actually feels like a huge conservatory thanks to the big windows. The interior is nicely decked out with a wooden flooring, and there's a ramp for disabled access. I suppose the central gimmick of Zizzi is that the kitchen area is clearly visible from the dining area - it's actually an integral part of the restaurant, so even before the food is served you ... ...To be honest I did get a little worse for wear during the evening, so this op is going to get less and less detailed as it progresses! As soon as we arrived we were taken to a table by a waitress, and ordered the first bottle of house wine (red) to share.
I'm not exactly Jilly Goolden so I can't go into too much detail over the wine. To me it tasted like one of those bottles you see going for £3 in a special offer in Tesco, but we got charged over ...

Advantages: Nice cheap food Disadvantages: Very busy and very loud
I went to Zizzi's with a friend for dinner. We were looking for something cheap and cheerful, and as I have been to the zizzi's in Loughton, I thought it would be a good idea. We were seated fairly quickly (they dont take bookings) and our drinks order was taken very quickly. It was busy so we didn't hold our breath too much for quick service. Two glasses of wine were then delivered to the table, and unfortunately, one of them was spilled over a ... ...mention my friend's phone and my bag. They apologised profusely as they cleared the table and gave me some tissue to dry myself with. To be quite honest, I was suprised to see the wine appear on the bill when it was brought out, after all, my dry cleaning bill was more than the cost of the wine. Anyway, we ordered, and enjoyed a nice glass of Pinot Grigio whilst waiting for our food. I avoided starters (I dont eat that much) and just had a main course. ...
