Tried to fly with Zoom from Gatwick to NYC via Bermuda on the 21st Oct 07 for a 4 day break. On arrival check-in was not open and there was nobody about. Queued for a few hours and were eventually told the aircraft was in NYC still and our flight was delayed 24 hours. Zoom said flight would be same time the next day and gave choice of night in hotel (we stayed in sofitel and had lunch, dinner and breakfast provided) or transport to/from airport. Next morning arrived in terminal and again checkin not open and no info forthcoming. Zoom then said aircraft had just left NYC and we would be delayed a further 5 hours (optimistic projection). We pulled out as we would have only had 48 hours in NYC by then. I would avoid as although they put us up in a hotel, their cust services and info flow at the airport is non existant and I think they should have had a plane on the tarmac ready to go on the 2nd day waiting. Think they just dont have enough planes/staff to cope satisfactorily when things go wrong and delays start to happen. My conclusion? Cheaper for a reason and I certainly would not fly with them nor recommend them to a friend.
