The 26th of December 2007, this boy goes of to fly to a girl he has never seen before, scared of flying, scared of missing his flight, scared of getting lost. Then I am at Schiphol, which is just as big as the airport of London. So here I am, and what happens? a defect engine, so I got 2 hours delay, and I could wait in the lounge, and got a coupon of 6 euros, which got me a candybar and some cola, because airports are pissing expensive. However, when it is allmost 2 hours later, the update comes, yes, more delay, because I was not scared enough yet.
Supposed to fly at 3.40, the plane got moving ( with me in it, finally ) at 7.43, which means 4 hours of delay, which really pissed me off, luckily I got my awesome Samsung MP3 Player to keep my mood somewhat okay.
So I was mad, but all was forgotten when I landed, because there was the girl to pick me up, and that is all that matters. Saying goodbye hurted extremly bad, so when they did nothing wrong on the flight back ( from Cardiff to Amsterdam ) I was annoyed I was not even 5 minutes delayed.
19th of March - 24th of March, same route, Amsterdam - Cardiff - Amsterdam.
The planes where both at the right place at the right time, and yes, when I flew back, with a broken heart ( very much in love, and it hurts balls to leave your love behind ;) ) they were even 20 seconds EARLY.
The Onflight service The staff was looking clean, as they should, but were inconsistant, and not THAT professional, they kept bumping into seated passengers, which should not happen, when I lay back and listen music, I do not want to get rammed by some woman, and you can say sorry, but they would make more friends with training theire staff somewhat better manners.
The take of and landings went smooth as silk, one time I did not even know we landed, until I was wondering why a flying plane would be standing still on the ground.

*I flew quite last notice both times, and it came around 90 euros for a return, and 43 of that was airport taxes, mainly because schiphol is expensive for real. I searched for "Amsterdam to Cardiff" They show you a cool menu, you can see the days you want to fly, but they also show you what the flights on the days before and after would cost, which is usefull if you are not that timebound. They offer you alot of extras they try to get money from ( 24 euros for a reserved seat ), which I did on my first flight. The creditcard stuff went easily, and if you are in a rush, you can search and buy a ticket within 5 minutes, seriously.
They ask you for your details, offcourse, this was somewhat of a problem, because my name is Gerlof, but my passport says Gerrit Laurens, so I had to register as Gerrit, which I kind of messed up the first time, but got enough time to fix it, 4 hour delay was good for something right?
If you just want to go somewhere and the price is your main concern, fly BMI, if you want sitting space, air, highly schooled staff and good food and good service, fly KLM or Air France, BMI can not wage up against any high class company, so if it is not about the price, skip BMI, if it IS about the price, get engaged to BMI.
