Stayed at CILCYCHWYN, Llanbedr. Not a good experience. Smelled bad, infested by mice and mould. Run down and not very clean. Bullet holes in the windows. Also said there was fishing available. It is about 3 miles up a steep hill (no vehicle access). Also told fishing in back garden - rubbish!
Worst of all, on our return we have been hounded for money for supposed damage, and additional heavy cleaning. The owner makes up more damage and threatens us every time she writes. She also says something different each time - laughable really. Threatened with court but taken legal advice, and they said she had very little chance of winning.
Certainly not what you need when you come back off holiday.
We have stayed at several cottages (through Menai Cottages or direct with the owner), and never had a problem before.
Complained to Welcome cottages, they were not interested said we should sort it out with the owner direct. Basically once they have your money, they don't care. Would NOT recommend.
Would be very interested if someone has had a similar problem with this cottage, or the other one she has (next to Graig Isaf Farm).
