Direct Holidays is a holiday company which takes the middle man- namely the travel agent out of the equation.
after being let down by one holiday company, i noticed an advert on television, it said you could view and book via the internet. We had twelve weeks to go before our holiday. I logged on via the internet and found their web page very simple and easy to follow. Click on an area and view the accomodation. After deciding the accomodation- fully inclusive, 14 days, 2 adults, 2 children I decided on a hotel in Benidorm. it said it would save me money, but being cautious I trawled around the travel agents for numerous brochures and started the calculations. yes, they were right, the nearest price to what direct holidays wanted was £700 more?
Having not visited Benidorm I rang their Liverpool office and had all my queries sorted out.
I booked over the internet and only had to pay £25 deposit per person and managed to get one child free. The confirmation arrived within the week.
on arrival at Alicante we were quickly transferred to the resort. The next morning, the dreaded welcome meeting, but to our amazement it took 10 minutes and they didnt pressure sell their excursions.
All in all we were very impressed by the product and have already got the brochure for next year! As yet, bookings are not being taken via the internet.
The only negative thing to say about the service was that the tour rep had only recently arrived in the resort and was not very knowledgeable.
I would recommed anybody who is looking for a fully inclusive holiday for the family to get hold of direct holidays brochure and compare prices with other leading tour operators. I would point out that their self catering is a bit on the pricey side.
