Despite having an Internet connection at home, it is not unusual for me to pop into our local easyEverything. Why? Because it's fast, it's cheap it's convenient, and best of all, it's open 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
easyEverything is a worldwide chain of large Internet Cafes owned by the same company who own easyJet and easyRent-a-car. They have stores in many major cities around the world, London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Amsterdam, Paris to name but a few.
All the shops are layed out in essentially to same way - row upon row of computer screens, which does mean that you don't get the privacy which some other Internet cafes offer. But then lets face it, if you really needed that much privacy, you should be using your computer at home!!
Apart from it being huge, the thing which makes easyEverything unique is the dynamic pricing policy it operates. You purchace your online time in units of £1 (minimum initial purchace £2). But the amout of time which £1 gives you varies depending on how busy the place is at the time. For example at peak time (e.g. 5pm on weekdays) £1 may only buy you 15 or 20 minutes, but at quiet periods (e.g. 3.30am on a Tueday morning), £1 may buy you as much as 4 or 5 hours.
The price is continually updated and the current tariff is displayed on screens at the entrance. Whilst you are online, should the number of minutes you can buy with £1 go down (e.g. 30 instead of 34), you will still pay the price when you came in. On the other hand, should the opposite happen and the current price become cheaper, you will benefit, and get this time added onto your account. In short, you will never pay more than the price which is displayed at the time you log on.
The whole idea of this pricing policy is to lessen the queuing time at peak times as it does tend to become fairly busy when people finish work.
Should you have any credit remaining at the end of your session, it can still be used when you next return - your ticket is valid for 28 days after purchace.
There is also a snack bar, which serves various drinks and snacks, though the prices are reasonable, they don't reflect the value which the Internet prices do.
I use easyEverything frequently, most often when I simply have time to kill.... most often when I'm waiting on the Night Bus, and can't afford a taxi home!

I used to use Easyeverything to download music off Napster before I had a CD writer.....the last time I was in there, a bag snatch happened next to me and it got quite nasty - no need to go back any more! - even if they do have lighting fast T3 connections! Thanks.

Advantages: cheap, coffee+food 'delivery', fast connection, easy to find Disadvantages: downloads are not always saved, the bright lights hurt your head after a while, charge too much for blank cds, food not bought there is banned and they threaten to throw you out if they find you eating it, expensive coffee,
