Last July we were lucky enough to be invited over to a villa in the South of Spain for a two-week holiday. This gave us plenty of time to organise flights and car hire.
While booking our return flights on the easyjet web site we thought the cheapest way of hiring a car would be to try their new Easyrentacar web site.
The initial booking process was quite long-winded (about 8 pages of forms) but pretty straightforward. That was until my ISP disconnected me from the server. After dialing-up to the Internet once more I attempted to continue my booking but found that my session had timed out and that I had to start the laborious process all over again.
Finally the booking was complete and the arrangements were pretty much forgotten about until the time of the holiday.
We had arranged to collect the car from the Easyrentacar office near Malagaairport - a little challenge in itself. The actual office is quite a walk from the airport especially with cases and a 5-month year old baby. Eventually we agreed to get a cab to the office even though it was visible in the distance. The taxi driver was extremely understanding and had similar request before. Nevertheless I gave him a goof tip since he couldn’t charge us any more than the minimum fee for the 2-minute journey.
The rest of the holiday passed without event since the collection of the car was simple and efficient, as was the returning of it. As for the car itself we had no complaints, but I’ve written a separate review of the Mercedes A Class within this site.
I was so happy with the value for money and helpful service that we recently chose to hire another Mercedes A Class after my wife lost her last car in a serious accident.
I returned to the website to order the next car and was prompted for the username and password I had set-up last time. At this point I was extremely disappointed to find out that I still had to fill in all the pages of the application form even though my details had been recorded previously. Nevertheless the car got booked and we’re driving it now.
