Easybus.co.uk is a part of easy group. Easygroup operates another 15 or more websites with various other products. Most famous ones are easyjet.com, easycar.com, easyinternetcafe etc. The website is quite easy to navigate. All need to know is your credit/debit card details and whether you want to go to luton airport or london or M.K. Just open easybus.co.uk and on the front page you will have the option of entering your from and to destinations and dates you want to travel. So simple , right ? If you decide to use the service every now and than you can also register. On front page click on My Information and click on register. two minutes is all it takes. Than on second page you will have the option of what time you want to travel in the day. Make sure you choose the right timings as there are no refunds. and after selecting your journey
timings all you need to do is type in your payment details and you will receive an email which is your ticket and in order to travel you must print it off and present it to the driver when travelling. Website has all the information you need and if you have any questions than you can also post the question after clicking on the help. So, I beleive website is very to use. Only thing is orange all over which might annoy some of you but Believe me easy bus is the best value for money. I read about easy bus quite a lot. Few of my friends who are students like me referred to me as well but I didn't get chance to travel until I had to receive my girlfriend from Luton airport. I was checking the times for all available options to go to Luton airport. Two options came into my mind straight away.
1) Thames link 2) easy bus
~Price~
With easy bus I could go to Luton airport for £2 and come back by paying another £2 for me and £2 for my girlfriend (Only If you book the ticket week or more in advance from the website). So, in total £6 for a return and a single journey.
Thames link would have cost me around £20 or more for the same.
~Location~
To go to the Luton airport from London pick up point is 137 Gloucester Place which is 5 minutes walk from Marylebone (Bakerloo line) Underground station. Drop off point is different than pick up point. Its about 5 minutes walk from baker street station. Drop off point for the airport is just outside the new terminal at Luton airport. Pick up point is just the opposite side of it.
For Thames link you would have to go all the way to Luton parkway station which is around 10 minutes journey in the free bus service between Airport and the station.
Timings~
So, I decided to go on the site and check out the timings. They have buses every half n hour or maximum one hour and the frequency of Thames link is around half an hour so there isn't much of difference between two services. Easy bus takes around 50-55 minutes from London Gloucester Place - Coach Stop 19 to Luton airport terminal. Whereas Thames link would take around 30 minutes and another 15 minutes to come out of the station and go in the free bus service for the terminal. So, there is not much difference in journey time either. I finally decided to go for it.
Journey ~
I got off at Marylebone underground station (Bakerloo line) and walk to the London Gloucester Place - Coach Stop 19 which is hardly 5-7 minutes walk from the underground and I was 20 minutes early and sat there for 10 minutes and than showed the print out of my ticket (you cant just go with reference number you have to have a print out of your ticket or you will have to pay again). The bus was more like a minibus with orange color all over.It was a Mercedes Sprinter with 15-20 seating capacity My journey began and to all my surprise it was quite comfortable and driver and other staff were very friendly. It felt like the £2 which I spent were the best £2 I ever spent behind travelling. It reached there in about 50 minutes and I received my girlfriend .We came out of the new terminal.
Luggage~
The bus also allows 1 single piece of luggage up to 30 kgs and another single piece of 5 kgs per person which is super value for £2. If you think you have extra luggage best thing to do would be book another seat for £2.
Refunds~
Refunds are only for unavoidable circumstances health wise.
Other services~
They also have routes between London and Milton Keynes which also cost £2 for single journey. Even If you don't book in advance and don't want to do it online walk up fare is only £6 for single journey which is still cheaper than other means of travel. You can buy the tickets from ticket office or from the driver.
I would recommend this service to anyone who wants to go to Luton airport or M.K for cheaper rates.
