Okay, I used to like EasyBus, but we just had a TERRIBLE experience trying to get back from Luton Airport.
Don't know if this is a recent thing, or they only do this late at night, but Easy Bus has now combined their services with Green Line & Terravision, meaning that DESPITE the fact we booked & paid with them, there is now only one bus servicing all 3. We had booked for the 12:40am from Luton to Victoria. Number one, the screens were wrong in telling us where the bus would be. It was only when I went to investigate that I found out that the Green Line coach was the one we actually needed to take, since the EasyBus I knew from before wasn't going to ever arrive. Even though we had booked for a certain time, we were NOT guaranteed a seat on the coach, which only ran twice an hour, despite the EasyBus bookings being THREE times an hour!! We had to queue and just wait until there was space. Additionally, the service was not direct like it had been before - we stopped at several places before finally getting to Victoria.
Very unhappy, as none of the staff knew what was going on, and no one had told us (or no signs!) that now the Green Line & EasyBusy were going to be the same vehicle. What's the point in booking for a certain time slot if you've simply got to queue when you get there & it turns into a free-for-all. We didn't manage leave the airport until 1:30am, almost ONE HOUR after our initial booking. If EasyBus has changed their service, they most certainly need to inform their passengers!!
I realise everyone's experience may vary with EasyBus, but I wanted to inform the public what it's REALLY like trying to get from Luton Airport to central London in the wee hours. It's possible that EasyBus during the day is better, but I would be extremely cautious before using them for late-night services. Seeing as EasyBusy & Green Line now use the same coaches, EasyBus IS cheaper if you don't mind the chaos and the queueing. Next time, we are going to try to fly Stansted, where there is a train. I had travelled on EasyBus last December and not had any problem, so I think this must be a recent development. Only further reviews & experiences by others will tell! I just issue a word of caution to all travellers in the future!
