We booked to go to Ireland for a wedding and went to Birmingham to get the flight with flybe. We got there and checked in fine, we went through to the departure lounge all on time, then as we all got on the bus to take us to the flight, a lsit of names were called, noone else was informed why and then someone came on the plane and asked if anyone would volunteer to go to London as there was too many people to go on the flight, eventually they had a few volunteers and the plane eventually took off 1hr and 30mins after due to fly. When we arrived in Ireland we went to the carousel to get our luggage but a total of about 5 bags came off, we enquired as to where the bags were and were told that the plane could not take the baggage as they could not hold the weight and the bags would be returned to us within the next few days!! We had no clothes, I was on regular medication which was given by needle, as I as not allowed to take the needles on the plane and thought I was only to be on the plane an hour did not think it would be a problem. We rang the airline head office as were informed that they would get the luggage to us that night, that evening no luggage came,we continued to persue them, we were informed it would be with us by the morning, well at least the one bag with the medication would, eventually at 2pm the bag arrived, the wrong one! Finally at 11pm the final bag arrived! The staff were very unhelpful and did not appear to care that the medication was needed and due to me being pregnant at the time he doctors over in Ireland would not prescribe it! Every person we spoke to said a different thing and did not seem to care what happened.

I give my sympathies too, it sounds awful. You probably got a bad plane, and they are actively replacing their fleet at the moment, so most of the problems you had here should be removed soon,

My sympathies, it sounds awful and in your circumstances you think they would have made an effort. Avoid Excel Airways as well. I went on a 4 and a half hour flight with them and all passengers had to sit in the plane for 6 hours on Luton airport runway (we were meant to be at Heathrow) and weren't allowed to get off. No reason or apology was ever given. Never had a problem with easyjet though ... so far...

Obviousely this person had a bad experience this time - was this her first/only trip with the company? I don't think you can condem a company, overall , with only 1 experience. A review which is ONLY negative in every way, is not objective and is not particularly helpful. Also, the personal details which were so central an issue, "I was on regular medication" & "I was pregnant at the time" would suggest that any journey might have been uncomfortable for this reviewer - I'm not suggesting by any means that pregnant women or those on medication should not travel or expect to have pleasant journeys, rather that it was maybe not the best time for this member to conduct a review. Finally, as this member has herself highlighted the difficulties she experienced due to her medical/personal situation, could she not have conducted a bit of research into the facilities available for Disabled travellers, who face these issues on every journey?

Record Rent a Car is present in the main spanish airports and has a very wide fleet. We offer: exceptional discounts, free additional drivers,
unlimited mileage... subscribe to our Club Record and take advantage of special offers.
Advantages: Actually fly at sensible times from regional airports, loads of legroom Disadvantages: The use of small planes mean you feel every bump and twist; much of FlyBE's fleet are turbo-props
