I realised that there was a massive choice other than the tour I had booked.
The tour I was on was round Egypt, seeing the sights and going down the nile etc.
I was really looking ... ...company wouldn't put us in nasty youth hostels which would spoil it.
This wasnt the case at all!! We stayed in really nice accomodation which wasnt expensive but they choose the hotels well.
The tour leader we had assigned to us was very helpful and although most things were planned for us and we were told what we should and shouldnt do (which saved alot of time and hassle) we never felt like it was a school trip or ... more

I was really looking forward to it and was just hoping that the tour company wouldn't put us in nasty youth hostels which would spoil it.

The tour leader we had assigned to us was very helpful and although most things were planned for us and we were told what we should and shouldnt do (which saved alot of time and hassle) we never felt like it was a school trip or that we were being herded, like some package tours.
The tour I was on was called 'river and reef' which meant that we got to see the sights and also got to go to the red sea. On our journeys we stopped in 4 places, Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and Hurghada. We did a whole range of activities such as seeing the pyramids, the temples, a donkey ride to the valley of the kings (which was painful but alot of fun!), cruising on a ship for 3 days on the nile, a desert safari and the best of all, diving in the beautiful red sea.
We packed so much into two weeks that it felt like much longer but we were nt tired out.
The days were very chilled as it was normally too hot to do much and then early morning, late evening we did the activities.
They even arranged a 'fancy dress' evening on the boat, where we had to dress up in traditional egyptian dress ( which we had haggled and bought the same day) and then went to a party wearing it!!! Scary but fun.
All transport was well arranged for us, we were advised on meals and all that kind of thing, so we never had to worry about anything.
Before we went out there we were sent allsorts of information which helped with planning and packing and gave us an idea of what to expect.
We had lots of options of things to do whilst we were in Egypt which were extra to the tour but we were never pushed into doing anything or going anywhere.
Our guide advised us on the best places to buy things and how much we should pay (as well as on haggling) which was very very useful as they see the tourists coming a mile away!!!!!
The company looked after us very well and the price for the tour was extremely cheap. Most people I spoke to on the tour had been recommended to use the company from people all over the world.
A very well organised tour but also alot of fun!!!! (we partied alot!!!)
